I'm generally not a fan of science fiction so I attempted to start this book with an open mind. I'm glad I was able to do so because I was quickly impressed and hooked by chapter three. I'm used to not liking books like this because they are usually overdescriptive when it comes to the world building and don't make much sense. ..... cont

IheartYA The author was able to execute the story in a way that makes it feel plausible. I thoroughly enjoyed the "show not tell" writing style. I'm often hung up by pacing issues but the story glides along seamlessly, aiding in maintaining heightened interest. World building and character development were sharp. ). 11mo
IheartYA I was debating between a 4 or 5 star review for most of the book, but decided on 4 stars for mainly two reasons: the how and why questions were not answered, and the end felt a bit rushed and messy. I wasn't a fan of the term "printing," and I felt a better word could have been used (reproduced or regenerated maybe). 11mo
IheartYA I'm not a fan of the cover art. To be honest, this is not a book I would have picked up from a book store or library shelf based on cover, title or blurb, which would have been a shame becauseit'sdefinitelyworth a read. Don't judge a book by its cover. This is an author to watch. Thank you to Bookish First for offering this title in their catalogue. The views portrayed above are strictly my own.

This was recommended to me by a friend and I‘m having a really hard time staying into it. Lately books have taken me 2 days to read but I‘m on this one for about 5 now. I‘ve heard it‘s worth it if I can push through…here goes. #neverletmego #kazuoishiguro #library #hardback #slowstart

Catching up on my #BOTM picks. I usually skip out on their magical realism options and go for the thrillers, but this was definitely worth the credit. Dysfunctional family dynamics, intrigue, finding your true self, and a talking crocodile - couldn‘t ask for more. #hardback #christyread #TouchOfMagic

Another great novel from Anthony Horowitz, effortlessly blending a great mystery story with an exercise in metafiction. #currentlyreading for my teacher librarian book club. Apparently it‘s divisive... we shall see. #memoir #spectrum #naturalworld #hardback #family #conservation #environmentalist #Ireland Plus #spikyplant that cut me. #ouch

Libby1 Hi! I‘m reading this right now. Can you please tell me how it‘s been divisive? I can‘t see anything in it yet to cause concern. 3y
Missusb Gosh. Uhm..I wrote that a long time ago before I read it. I think I read some reviews on Goodreads that mentioned his age and his autism. But yeah. I didn't find it a problem. I loved his voice. And he just won a huge environmental award in Ireland with it. 3y

When I took the dust jacket off of my next book I was greeted by this beautiful spine. That plus the amazing cover art is making me even more excited to read it!

Do you remove the dust jacket of #hardback books while you read them? I love using the inside flaps as #bookmarks, but the jacket gets so damaged if I take the book on the go with me!

TheBookAddict I leave the jacket on and use a book sleeve. I crochet my own. 4y
Graciouswarriorprincess I remove the jacket and use a book sleeve.

Buchbeeg I usually leave it on while reading and then take it off when I'm done if the book itself is pretty. 4y
