An enjoyable read. What do you do when you can get a chance? Do you let it go or take it? Cute artwork and story.

This series is just wonderful. This time our main character is letting his problem get the best of him and he can't stop worrying about it. Will he work through the problem or let it fester? Amazing illustrations throughout and a beautiful story.

Beautiful illustrations and a great story! A boy has an idea but will everyone like it or will he turn his back on it? Just a simply stunning picture book.

TheBookHippie I like this one too. 1mo

Nominated for the 2026 Washington State Children's Choice Award, Built to Last is a simple story with intense illustrations about perseverance, patience, and friendship.

mandarchy I just did a little Googling. The gold fish on the left is significant in vietnamese culture, and among other things, it represents perseverance. The fish kite on the right is Japanese and represents the hopes and dreams parents have for their children's success. 4mo

I do the stuff my anxiety normally prevents me from doing. Eg. On Sunday I installed and used the vacuum system that came with my car that I got last year. Every time I looked at it I‘d freak out, afraid I‘d mess it up, etc. But after the incident with my son on Thursday (see previous post about 2 down from this) I must have needed to show myself I could still control something. :)

Visited Santa Barbara today. Was walking along State Street and looked down to my left and said “There‘s the library.” It took my kids half a block before they saw it. They do not have a library radar in their heads. 😂

Ugh, can we stop with this BS?! This is doing just as much damage, especially to girls, as the “grit” fad before it. It blames YOU if you fail, never the person teaching you or a source being unclear. You failed, it‘s on you. Try harder. 🙄 This is damaging to girls. It‘s damaging to minorities. Can we just stop this? It breaks my heart that a minority woman trying to encourage women and girls is perpetuating this absolute nonsense.
