kwmg40 I enjoyed this one very much. I'd read it several years ago, but liked it even more on reread, mostly because I appreciated the return of Gaspode after having read Moving Pictures since. 5d

BarbaraJean Somehow I missed the tag for this yesterday! And I actually finished this one on time! 😆 I loved getting to know the Watch characters better, especially Vimes, Carrot, Detritus, and Angua. And I found so much of it uncannily relevant to current events in the USA. I just read the (very!) short story (on L-Space). I love that Carrot interviews Death as a witness! 5d

julesG @BarbaraJean Tagging so many at once is wonky sometimes. Yes, it's a short short story, but I liked it. I even attempted reading it in different languages. 4d

BookmarkTavern A small group of individuals believing they‘ve been deprived of what‘s rightfully due them decide to put a puppet leader in charge to control, only to end up with a narcissistic, greedy, destructive force intent on sowing fear and chaos around him? Gee, I wonder how relevant that story could be? 😅😅 I can‘t believe this was written over thirty years ago. 1mo

willaful @BookmarkTavern I know, Terry Pratchett wouldn't be surprised by anything.

I think I enjoyed this more than I remember doing so when I first read it. It was fun to see the Watch becoming a real force for good. 1mo

BarbaraJean This is my first time reading the Watch novels! Having seen Vimes (and the Watch) now in other novels, I was surprised to find him in the gutter at the beginning here! It was so fascinating to see the origins of characters I‘d enjoyed later glimpses of elsewhere. @BookmarkTavern 😂😂😭 1mo

AlaMich The audio version of this has been so delightful!! It‘s adding considerably to my enjoyment. 1mo
