As a person who looooooves to ruminate, especially on awful things that could happen, I appreciate this #covid19 #picturebook that invites readers to imagine both the realistic good and wildly fantastic possibilities of the future.

The poetry of this book (“eyes got squarer“ seeing the world through screens)! Nearly all the #covid19 books I've read go deeper than merely covering the pandemic. They touch on global issues of connection or environmentalism. This #picturebook invites us to dream of tomorrow. With all my heart, I would love for us to do that, but my square eyes make that feel impossible.

A page in this #covid19 #picturebook depicts people sharing self-portraits, which makes it a good fit with our current exhibit. At the end of a field trip, I asked our visitors to reflect on the experience. One said, “I wouldn't come next time.“ “Ouch, but thank you for the input.“ Also, some days I feel the same. Overwhelmingly, this was a great group. That just made me lol on the inside.

When I was brave inside.“
Multiple illustrations evoked Ferdinand the Bull for me. Lovely #Covid19 #picturebook based on this viral video: http://quietube7.com/v.php/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XZVwZZnXy0

I calculated how much I have read from March 16, 2020 until the end of June 11, 2021, about 15 months in the #covid19 #pandemic with my Bookly app. Here are the stats:
Books read: 157
Hours read 1136h 37 minutes
Pages read: 55, 574
Most pages read in a day: 699
Average number of pages read/day: 122
Most minutes read in a day: 854
I‘m curious what my numbers will be like when September 7, when all of the Covid restrictions are lifted, hopefully.
