Mina is trying to focus on her job as a flight attendant and not the problems of her five-year-old daughter back home or the problems with her marriage. The inaugural nonstop flight between London and Sydney will take 20 hours. The plane has barely taken off when Mina receives a chilling threat from an anonymous passenger who is intent on ensuring the plane never reaches its destination.

EadieB Someone who needs Mina's assistance and who knows exactly how to make her comply. A lot can happen in 20 hours. You can save hundreds of lives, or the one that matters most. This is a page-turner with a surprise ending that I didn't see coming. It was a slow-start but once it took off the suspense began to build. 2mo
EadieB The chapters switch between 3 points of view, Mina, Adam (her husband) and a passenger. If you like books that feel like roller coaster rides, then you will like this one. 2mo
TheAromaofBooks Woohoo!! 2mo
Andrew65 Another author I am yet to get to. 2mo

Let Me Lie | Clare Mackintosh

Tom and Caroline Johnson chose to commit suicide 6 months apart. Anna, their daughter, is unwilling to believe it was suicide and is determined to find out what really happened. Murray Mackenzie, retired policeman, offers to help her. This book was a slow start and kept me guessing through a few plot twists until the surprise ending. It had lots of secrets and family drama.

EadieB I liked the characters of Murray and his wife Sarah the best. The book also dealt with the theme of mental illness and handled the subject very well. I like Macintosh‘s writing and look forward to her next book. (edited) 3mo
Andrew65 I need to read some Claire Mackintosh. 3mo

Another great read from Clare Mackintosh, I was captivated from the start. She certainly knows how to build suspense and throw in some twists. A short read but definitely not one to miss out on. #claremackintosh #thedonor #bookstagram #bookqueen #thriller #tea_sipping_bookworm #goodreads #litsy #greatreads

3.5 or 4 stars- I See You was a creepy, realistic thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. Some of the twists in this one were a bit more predictable than they usually are in her books, but I still hung on to every word, anxiously waiting to find out how it would all turn out.

Zoe Walker feels like someone is watching her. She becomes trapped in the confines of her normal everyday world. This intense psychological thriller makes you re-evaluate every step you take and makes you see the world in a different light. It has a killer twist which keeps the pages turning until the very end. I'm looking forward to reading Mackintosh's next novel and I highly recommend this one to those who love psychological thrillers.

Cinfhen Did you read her first book???? It was sooooo good 3y
EadieB @Cinfhen Yes it was much better than this one! 3y
Cinfhen Agreed!!!!! This one let me down after her first one... 3y

I have read #ILetYouGo and #LetMeLie, and it is clear to me #ClareMackintosh is a master of #suspense and plot twists. I have not read #ISeeYou yet, but I highly anticipate I will be surprised by a #plottwist. I See You has been described as:
- “wonderfully sinister”
- “a deliciously creepy tale of urban paranoia”
- “an intense psychological thriller...Truly shudder-some.”
- “Mind-bending..You [will] reevaluate every step you take.”
#Aprella #TBR

Cinfhen I see you was not a favorite of mine....but I hear she redeemed herself with 4y
Jess7 I loved Let Me Lie! It was excellent. I also really liked her first one - I Let You Go. @Cinfhen 4y
Jess7 Was it predictable or what was it about it you didn‘t like @Cinfhen 4y

Mdargusch Yes she definitely has some great plot twists. I‘m anxious to read her new one! 4y
Cinfhen Because I was blown away by her first book, I was expecting real magic and it didn‘t come close @Jess7 the MC was annoying, the tension was a slow buildup, the premise was contrived, the nobody believes me am I just imagining things was underwhelming...it was just a big fizzle for me. 4y
Jess7 Oh that‘s good to know. Your feedback will definitely help put it in context whenever I do read it so I do not expect too much. I own it, so I do want to eventually read it. I‘ll let you know what I think when I do. Definitely check out her new book - Let Me Lie, it was very good and the twists were exceptional, I thought. @Cinfhen (edited) 4y
Reviewsbylola Nothing can touch I Let You Go imo. Her other two were good but not the same caliber imo. @Cinfhen @jess7 @Mdargusch 4y
Jess7 @Mdargusch - I loved her new book - Let Me Lie. It‘s one of those books where the ending makes up for any parts that might have been so-so. I really enjoyed it. 4y
Jess7 Ohh I liked Let Me Lie more than her first book, but I read them both back-to-back (the newest one second) . @Reviewsbylola @Cinfhen @Mdargusch 4y
emilyhaldi I loved I let you go but was bored by I see you 😏 4y
Cinfhen I‘m excited for let me lie but I‘m trying to keep my expectations in check 🙄😉 4y
Jhullie I just picked up Let Me Lie and am keen to delve in... (edited) 4y

Let Me Lie | Clare Mackintosh

Jenna is glued to my lap when I read. 📚🐾 Her brother is sound asleep on the bed. They look so sweet and peaceful... little do they know they‘re getting the dreaded bath tonight (and haircuts to be scheduled soon bc their hair is looking a bit shaggy). 🤣 Do any of your #petsoflitsy like to lay on your lap while you read and/or hate getting baths as much as this one?

Reading: #LetMeLie #ClareMackintosh #schnauzersoflitsy

SharonGoforth My cat, Dinah, is on my lap as soon as she sees me pick up a book. I don‘t even attempt to give her a bath 🛀 🙀 4y
Jess7 Haha! I think cats are good at keeping themselves clean 🤗 so you‘re good! I bet you would have a bunch of claw marks if you tried. @SharonGoforth 🤗 4y
CoffeeNBooks Yep, both cats are always sitting on my lap while I read. 4y

wanderinglynn Yep! My dog and cat take turns. And my dog absolutely hates baths. You‘d think he was being tortured. ❤️🐱🐶 4y
jillannjohn My cat gets in my lap anytime I sit down! My puppy can not stay still long enough. I‘m not even sure that he sleeps! 4y
JoScho Always surrounded by dogs and yes they hate to take a bath. 4y
Bianca Yes! It's an entire production to give Roscoe a bath. He looks at me with such sadness the entire time. 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick My dog Watson lays on my lap whether I'm reading or not. We take him to the groomer. I think he prefers the bath to nail clipping because they always mention him trying to pull his paws out of their hands. 4y
Supersteph My little Arnold is like my shadow, so yep, if not on my lap, then very near to it 4y
britt_brooke 💚🐾 Cute! Our Boston terrier is an amazing dog, but not a snuggler at all. Sometimes I force him but he gives me the side eye, haha! 4y
RainyDayReading I have a bluetick coonhound that will literally dig her nails into the door jamb of the bathroom when we try to give her a bath. It‘s all four paws spread out and dug in. I‘m useless trying to get her to let go because I start laughing and can‘t do anything 🤣 4y
darklydreaming My reading spot is usually my bed and when my kitty hears me wander in there with a book, he is close behind and cuddles beside me while I read. It's my favourite!! ❤ 4y
tonyahoswalt My kitties love to lay in my lap while I read. I often have 1-4 reading buddies at a time. The fifth is not a lap cat. 4y
