I was very happy to receive this in the mail. I was a bit bummed out to not find a page-a-day bibliophile calendar for last year & Workman publishing has produced several great such calendars in the past. I noticed that they also produced wall calendars, if that's more your speed.

tpixie Nice! 😊 thanks for sharing 19h

🎄What‘s your favorite retelling of a classic myth?

Answer in the comments ⬇️ or post and tag 💜

TheBookgeekFrau Wait. Wasn't this yesterday's question? 2d
BookishMarginalia @TheBookgeekFrau Good catch! The photo issue made me frazzled! Fixing now! 2d
BookishMarginalia Mine is probably Atwood‘s Penelopiad. I also love graphic novel adaptations. 2d

willaful I really loved Rosamund Hodge's dark romantic retellings, especially Crimson Bound. I'm bummed she doesn't seem to be writing anymore.

And John Wiswell's Wearing The Lion is such a great twist for Hercules, bringing some peace to a very tragic story.
(edited) 2d
TheBookHippie Top ten read for me this year! 2d
TheBookgeekFrau 😊 .... I haven't read one, at least to my knowledge. For all I know, one of Christopher Moore's books could apply 🤷🏻‍♀️ 2d
do-re-mi I remember reading and liking Circe but I don't recall the story very well. 2d
AmyG I loved Circe. 2d
ravenlee I love Natalie Haynes‘ nonfiction myths, and I need to try her fiction (I have most of it, just haven‘t committed yet), and this short story by Madeline Miller was surprisingly powerful. (edited) 2d
dabbe @AmyG I'm with you! 💚💙♥️ 2d

Pickpick

This was a very unique read! I hadn‘t read anything like it before.

It blends fact and fiction to create a “history” of animals starting from the Paleozoic Era all the way to present day and beyond. Basically it personifies animals and tells their story in relation to humans. The animals are presented in a very human way.

The #AdventPromptoftheDay is actually an activity: cook your favorite recipe.

So, my question is:
🎄What‘s your favorite cookbook? What makes it special?

Answer in the comments ⬇️ or post and tag 💜

TheBookgeekFrau lol - I did this activity yesterday when I made Beef Stew from my Betty Crocker cookbook. My mother got this cookbook for her bridal shower, and I stole it from her when I got married 4d
BookishMarginalia @TheBookgeekFrau That counts in my book! 4d

lil1inblue My current favorite isn't in the database: It's called Four Seasons of Cabin Cooking. My husband and I love to experiment with campfire cooking, and this is perfect for that. 😍 https://www.finnishdesignshop.com/en-us/product/four-seasons-of-cabin-cooking?sr... 4d
willaful I literally just put one of my favorite recipes in the oven - Butterscotch Brownies from How to Cook Everything. Simply everyone loves them and they're so easy -- it's enormous bang for the buck.

Another favorite is Eggs in a Nest - pouched eggs on vegetables over rice -- from Animal, Vegetable, Miracle.

julesG Whoop!!! Did exactly that for dinner. Made a quinoa-veggie-chicken-one-pot dish with almonds and dried apricots from a tiny cookbook. 4d
