I'm a day behind on my #augustphotochallenge but here are some of my #alltimefavebooks (at least the ones I own in print editions!) Most of these have been my favorites for at least 15 years (Daisy Fay, I Capture the Castle, Girl, Feeling Sorry for Celia, This Lullaby, Perfect, Light a Penny Candle, Summer Sisters, Crocodile on the Sandbank, and Key of Valor) #augustofpages

#alltimefavebooks @TheSpinecrackersBookClub I read it for the first time when I was the same age as the protagonist and it was the first time I felt like the main character really understood me. This was the cover of the edition I read that first time.

CarrieKitz One of my very favorites! 8y
Beckys_Books I've picked this off the library shelf a couple times, but put it back. Maybe 3rd time will be a charm now that I know others liked it. Thanks! 8y
Shemac77 Adore this series! 8y
TheSpinecrackersBookClub I always love to hear the stories behind why people love specific books. 8y

Don't have access to most of my books since I'm still on break, so created a virtual collage of my #alltimefavebooks for the #augustphotochallenge. Tamora Pierce's Alanna was the book that hooked me as a reader. Unbeknownst to my teachers, I even used it for a book report two years in a row in elementary school. 😂

annahenke All the love for Sarah Maas!! ❤️ 8y
TheFirst30 @ahenke Right?! I can't wait for book 3 in this series. Love Throne of Glass too! 8y

I have a confession to make: I am not big on re-reading books. Still, as greedy as I am for new bookish experiences, I have managed to read Portrait several times. Almost in tatters, it has been on my bedside table for many years so I think it may be the only book that qualifies for #augustofpages #augustphotochallenge #day9 #alltimefavebooks @TheSpinecrackersBookClub

Smrloomis I rarely re-read anything and I kind of feel bad about it! Not sure why but I almost always would prefer to read something new. 8y
Hooked_on_books I almost never re-read! Too many books out there I haven't read yet for that. Love your puppy! 🐶 8y
BookHermit @Smrloomis Yep, me too. I feel the same way about movies, television, campgrounds and yet I always buy the same brand of wine 🤔 8y

Smrloomis @BookHermit 😂 love that you buy the same wine. I buy the same flavor of Oreos 😉 8y
quirkyreader Cutie doggie and cool book cover. 8y
BookHermit Thanks @quirkyreader! I miss those Penguin Classics 🙂 8y
TheSpinecrackersBookClub Adorable pooch! I'm also not a person who rereads books. 8y
Lizpixie I'm a constant rereader, most of the books in my library have been read at least twice! 8y

"My skin is kind of sort of brownish / Pinkish yellowish white. / my eyes are greyish blueish green, / But I'm told they look orange at night. / My hair is redish blondish brown, / But it's silver when it's wet. / And all the colors I am inside / Have not been invented yet." Shel Silverstein, the first author I ever fell in love with?#AugustOfPages #AugustPhotoChallenge #AllTimeFaveBooks I couldn't fit it all, but here are few of my favorites!

ImaginativeMom Shel Silverstein created some readers in this house, too. 😊 8y

A peek of some of the books that have "...taken up residence in my soul" throughout the years. Some of these are favorite authors, favorite series, old favorites from when I was young and more. Most of these have been read several times and I fall in love with them again every time. #nationalbookloversday #alltimefavebooks

MrBook Niiiiiice! 😊 8y
PatriciaU Hatchet ❤️❤️ 8y
SusanInTiburon I love the way you put it: taken up residence in your soul. It's like that. 8y
MeganAnn @SusanInTiburon thank you! That's exactly how I felt the first time I read that line from The Night Circus 😍📚 8y

#augustofpages #alltimefavebooks also include Pride and Prejudice, the dictionary, and a well used cookbook. #bookphotochallenge

Leelee08 ❤️❤️❤️ 8y
SusanInTiburon The dictionary! I love you! ❤️ 8y
Beckys_Books @SusanInTiburon I couldn't live without it! 8y
SusanInTiburon I keep one in my car so I can look things up while we're talking about them. I could never remember to do it when we got home, and it happened so regularly I got a car copy. Could use a phone, I guess, but formed the habit long ago. 8y

One of my favorite things about reading is that every new book I pick up is a potential future favorite. Here are a few (not even close to all) that have made the "favorites" list over the years. #augustphotochallenge #day9 #alltimefavebooks

TheNextBook Where did you get that copy of Harry Potter? The new house versions of Philosopher's Stone will be coming out next year and I need to get them! 8y
See All 12 Comments
[DELETED] 2232195534 I love The Witch Of Blackbird Pond! Such a good book!! 8y
AmyS @TheNextBook I got that copy at an indie store in Canada last year. They had 1-7 with that style cover but I only bought 1-3 because I was trying to be frugal. I deeply regret my decision. 😔 (I have seen those covers at other stores here in the US but I'm holding out for the British versions.) 8y
AmyS @Gayan @kaysreadinglife That's my new copy. I read my original paperback so many times it fell apart. 😊 8y
Gayan @AmyS I bought that version for my granddaughter. 8y
Eyelit I just watched The Martian tonight. How does it compare to the book? It's been on my tbr forever but took the lazy way out and just watched (telling myself I'll move it up the tbr list) 8y
AmyS @Eyelit I haven't watched the movie yet but I hear good things. The book is a quick, fun read. Everyone I've recommended it to really enjoyed it. 8y
AmyS @Gayan It's so pretty that I couldn't resist. I hope your granddaughter likes it. 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Eyelit The movie was very good, but as is usually the case, the book was even better. They had to cut a few things out to make the movie fit (timewise) that I missed seeing in the film, plus the book had even more of the Watney humor. 😉 8y
Eyelit Thanks @Riveted_Reader_Melissa 😀 I think I'll move the book up the tbr list 8y
