When a good looking middle-aged vet opens a vet practice in Carsley, every woman of a certain age desires to become the next Mrs…Agatha being one of them. But, murder happens, and Agatha has to figure out what happened. Rereading this series reminds me how much I am not a fan of James Lacey. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Firstly, the blurb on this book feels a little misleading. D. H. Lawrence and other writers and painters are hardly a part of this story.

Secondly, this feels like a love letter to the employees her family had and their farmers. To the Italian food. The way they make olive oil and wine.

Kinta came to live in her parents castle when she was 5 and it was after WWI. And we follow what happens over the next couple of decades well into the 50s.

Brunetti has another tough case to solve in book two of the long running mystery series. With a dry sense of humor and the Venice backdrop, Brunetti tracks down each clue, leading to conspiracies and corrupt politics, both Italian and American. Not a fast read, but I like feeling like I‘m walking in Venice. #1993 #19822022

I feel mixed on this one, the last seventy pages were deeply affecting and I found myself in tears and the depiction of life for black men in Louisiana in the 1940s was powerful, but parts of it also dragged. Jefferson is sentenced to die for a crime to which he was a bystander and his aunt enlists the local teacher to meet with him and impart his humanity on him so he can die with dignity. #40thbirthdaychallenge #1993

Grisham is always good for a page-turner. Darby Shaw, a Tulane law student, teams up with a Washington post reporter to get to the bottom of 2 assassinations. Lots of intrigue, spying, and chases. Perfect winter break read. #40thbdaychallenge #1993.

First I was disappointed that the ebook loan link couldn‘t be fixed, then I was, wait I have a copy on my pc all this time? I purchased a Humble Bundle Women of Sci Fi and Fantasy collection one year ago, and ultimately forgot about it. Celebrating the moment with a palm planted onto face. 🤦🏻‍♀️
