Here are my two choices for December 2025. I‘ve wanted to read Lady Rose ever since learning that it was a favorite of the Queen Mum‘s. One Afternoon sounds interesting, and this would give me an excuse to buy a copy. 😄

Summer has finally arrived in the uk 🇬🇧 hooray 🙌🏻after all therain ☔️ lucky enough to spend the afternoon in the garden with mollie moonbeam & finish this wonderful book.Persephone do it again what a beautifully written story this is,sad to say I‘d never heard of SianJames Iv since googled &loved the preface by Emma Schofield. Thank goodness forPersephone highlighting these forgotten wonderful authors so their workwill neverever be forgotten

What a beautiful book this is , chapter just made me chuckle as Anna sits with her elderly mother in-law her deceased husband‘s former lover arrives , she describes the back biting snarky comments passing affectionally between them &chapter ends with “we Drank more tea and ate soft biscuits which smelt of dusty cupboards “ Reminds me of eating soft rich tea biscuits with my gran & elderly great aunts . Written in 1975 it‘s so astonishingly modern

Current read, one of the #persephonebooks i picked up in the wonderful shop in Bath . So far it lives up to the hype, the writing is just beautiful it‘s simply a lovely ☺️ book uncomplicated and a joy to turn each page #forgottenauthors #persephone #sianjames #litsylove i think all would enjoy it
