I‘ve been on a bit of a graphic novel kick lately so when my boyfriend picked this up over the weekend and told me how great it is I had to read it.
I didn‘t expect to love it as much as I did but it was SO GOOD!
Alan Moore created a great origin story for the Joker and the artwork was phenomenal. It was interesting getting a glimpse into Jokers past but considering how crazy he is, it left me wondering if that was truly what happened.
My friend found out that I love Batman but haven‘t really read any comics so he let me borrow this one today. It was darker than expected but I love this story! Quick and the ending is so ahhhhhhahahahahahahahaha....

I honestly didn't think the would ever share the story of how The Joker became so mad.... didn't expect it, but thoroughly it. ❤️ The story was quick, and to the point. The illustrations were, as always, bloody phenomenal. I loved the selective use in colour. If you haven't read this, and you're a fan of batman GO READ THIS IMMEDIATELY. Love it. Loved every single frame of it.
Comic Book Question!
Who is your favourite Batman Villain?
Mine is The Penguin ????
Especially in the 90s, when there was all the great puns. "Something smells fishy around here" ?

In just 46 pages, "The Killing Joke" packs a goddamn wallop. The only disappointing thing is that Babs is basically nothing more than a prop; the animated film gives her a little more of a presence, but still. (Though it is, at heart, a story about Batman and the Joker, I'm a Babs girl through and through, and always want more.) Definitely worth the read. #batman #thekillingjoke #dccomics
Batman has always been a favorite (I'll fight anyone who tries to argue that B:TAS isn't the best Batman screen adaptation of all), and a few months ago, I watched the animated adaptation of "The Killing Joke"; they did a terrific job translating page to screen. I maybe shouldn't be reading this right before I go to sleep, but here we are. #batman #thekillingjoke #joker #dccomics
My lovely friend lent me this book the other day when we were chatting and I mentioned that, as much as I like comics and graphic novels, I've never read a DC Comic before. She's a HUGE DC fan, especially all things Batman and Joker, so this was just unacceptable to her! Haha! I'm going to start this one tonight, and I've promised to text her along the way. 😊 #GraphicNovel #Comics
#riotgrams Day 4?
I lost count.
This was not an easy call to make. It did, however, come down to two CLOWNS. End the end, I hold a biased opinion. You've never seen Batman and me in the same room at the same time. So this time, Pennywise loses to the Joker.
It's like he's taking a picture of your soul, isn't it?
I hope that the fact I am super late with this #Bookface for my #ReadJanuary doesn't matter because, honestly, this probably the best.
-Also I got a visit from the superintendent this week and I was way too busy thinking about "accountability"#SadbutTrue I just really wanted to take this photo.

Everyone else is doing it! Also, stickers. I always like more stats so I enjoyed perusing this. I don't like long books so it doesn't surprise me that my longest is just 548 pages. Hopefully I will hit 85 maybe 90 before December 31! #allthebooks #goodreads
This is an exceptional book, and an incredible story of how one bad day can transform a life. It's a short but powerful read - one that I dip into on an annual basis - and it never disappoints. Recommended for Batman fans as well as for anyone new to comics and graphic novels.
I've only recently gotten into graphic novels and started exploring the superhero world so this perspective may be a bit naive. I went into it expecting a cartoon of spooky cliche with some good vs evil. Sure, it was a bit good vs evil but I love that it explored WHY is there even a battle. Batman was quick to self evaluate and I loved that about this Bat tale.
This one is dark y'all. Not for kids. So good. Twisted and certain panels actually gave me the heebie jeebies. This has warmed me up more to Batman, as today I realized I don't really think I find his character that interesting. Loving this adventure into DC. I would tag Chad but he hasn't gotten the app yet 🔫
This graphic novel was awesome. It had all of the elements needed to make a true Joker story: darkness, silliness, twisted chaos, gore, and death. It really is a masterpiece, in what we can all safely and securely call the DarkKnight Comics Universe (DC Universe).
Now that the movie is coming up, EVERYONE who loves super heroes needs to read this. It's got flaws, sure, but still an amazing Joker story.
"I've been thinking lately...about you...about me. About what's going to happen to us, in the end. We're going to kill each other, aren't we? Perhaps you'll kill me...perhaps I'll kill you. Perhaps sooner...perhaps later." Just reread, and love how this quote bookends the story.
Alan Moore's brilliant writing in this story takes Batman to the very edge of becoming who he swears not to be. His "relationship" with the Joker is detailed in a manner that changes how the two perceive each other and how the reader perceives them. A truly great graphic novel.
