This was the perfect spring read. I really loved these poems. My only complaint about this library book isn‘t about the content but instead about the fact that another reader read this while eating and dropped food on many of the pages throughout it. Who does that and then doesn‘t even bother to wipe the food off? I was using my fingernail to scrape away chunks of dried food. It was really disrespectful and careless of that person. But the poems?

slategreyskies (Cont.) the poems were just what I wanted to read. Loved them! #poetry 5d
wanderinglynn Yuk. That is gross. If it‘s really bad, I‘d let the librarians know. And who eats like that when reading a library book?! (edited) 5d
slategreyskies @wanderinglynn I hadn‘t thought of letting them know. I was just trying to clean it up as I read, but I think I may mention it when I return it. I kinda don‘t want them to think I was the one who did it. Thanks! 😊 4d

I've loved Ted Kooser ever since I found out he used to mail penned Valentines to 50 lucky ladies each year. ❤️ This book won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 2005 and while he was Poet Laureate of our country. His poems seem simple for they usually center on one idea or person. But they are anything but. I posted “In January“ to give you an idea.

In this collection of poems, Ted Kooser captures the ephemeral yet timeless beauty of small, everyday moments. He's a wonderful poet!

Lindy I first encountered Kooser in a wonderful picture book: 7y
Louise Thanks for the tip, @Lindy! I have added that picture book to my TBR list. 7y
