I really enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to reading the next in series!
I really enjoyed reading this book and am looking forward to reading the next in series!
The first half of this book is like the author was dared to squeeze every cliche and stereotype about YA and paranormal novels into one. Then it seemed like it was going to get interesting! But no, it relied heavily on the POV character at the end knowing what was going on all the time, but hiding it from the reader. Some big reveal!
Also, it‘s not gay enough.
This book is kind of teetering on the edge, but if Summer and River get together, it might scrape a pick.
@Sweetkokoro β Wow! You totally get me! What a great #basicwitchswap package. I‘m intrigued by the books. I‘ve never heard of the novel but it sounds right up my alley. I love the tea. I‘m crazy about the Luna and Halloween socks. And THAT POSTER!!! I gasped so loud when I opened it, my husband came in from the other room. I wish I could have fit the whole thing in the picture so the other Littens could see it. It‘s gorgeous! Thank you so much!
My rating: βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈβ¨

I. FREAKING. LOVED. THIS! The Graces was so hard to put down, I was even trying to sneak a read during my moms bday dinner. I didn‘t like the main character & that‘s ok, do you like everyone you meet? This was a slow burn just building up for the climax that leaves you wanting book 2. I don‘t get the negative reviews.. Continued belowβ¬οΈπ
A decent enough book. Although the characters are a bit flat, I did rather enjoy the story. It‘s a nice bit of light, summer reading.
This book is tricky. Just when you think you know what kind of story this is and where is going, it totally throws you for a loop. Then it tricks you into a false sense of security, and a moment later it whacks you with something shocking and upsetting.
So it‘s not predictable β some aspects may be (like with whom Wolf is in love), but not the story, I promise.
And yet... I felt a little betrayed. And that made me lower the rating.
I‘m getting βThe Craftβ vibes.
In other words, I‘m enjoying this more than I thought I would!
We are the weirdos, mister. π
River‘s not that likeable until the second half of the novel. Cheers for her to be a strong one instead of a whiny poor me protagonist. Cliffhanger ending and ohhh Lordy I want to we what River has planned !!! Not much of a plot in this one but it was a good read. Can‘t wait to read the next one!!

Starts off slow, but gradually pulls you in, before a thrilling conclusion. The kind of book where you've read 100 pages without realising it. Rating: 4/5.
I would be lying if I said this wasn't a partial cover "buy" (I picked it up from the library)
I don't know why, but July wasn't a great reading month for me. I didn't read a lot, and nothing really grabbed me. I guess the tagged book was the best of what I read. And of course The Mysterious Affair at Styles, since Agatha Christie is always good. #bestofjuly #julyfaves #JubilantJuly #sizzlinsummerbooks
However, I think August will be better, since I just started (and so far am loving) The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo.
This was the perfect audiobook to get me through my work day! I loved it. Here's your bookquation: The Craft + We Were Liars + Girls on Fire. #MorePlease
At work today I am dipping chocolate marshmallows into dark chocolate while getting my inner teen witch on by listening to The Graces.

So, this book... it gripped me so much in the beginning, and then the middle sort of dragged out a bit. But that ending... definitely need to read the next book to make a final decision, or just to find out what happens next... #thegraces #laureeve
Started The Graces by Laure Eve this evening.... I'm hooked! Why did I put this book off for so long? #thegraces #laureeve #chapterone
One review says this is The Craft meets The Secret History. To that I say: JHRC. Take all my money. (2.84 on Kindle UK.)
Jarryn flew back to Sydney this afternoon, so we did an early Easter exchange. I scored Graces by Laurie Eve and gave my son Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb.
Can I last 'till Easter weekend and read it with chocolate eggs or should I start now?
I got this one because of its cover--its gorgeous, magical cover-- but did NOT like the book itself. Ah well, it looks nice on my shelf (and luckily it's one I got free from work!)

This was kind of weird and got dark at the end. It wasn't what I expected, but kept me engaged and entertained. 3/5 stars
"He smelled like a thicker, manlier kind of vanilla."
OK this just made me laugh...
"She didn't thank me or even look up. I was glad. I was at least as awkward as she was, and both of us awkwarding at each other would have been too much for me. "
Awkwarding! My new word ?
I don't know why I like books with colored fonts so much, but I do. This one is printed in blue. π
Just started this last night and I'm really enjoying it so far! I like Eve's writing. It's very entertaining Have you read this? Thoughts?
Ps; that's ICE on the grass in Southern California π±

Hiya, you lovely YA library patrons! Here's what we have rolling out for you on New Teen Tuesday π And don't forget about the new Hogansville library opening tomorrow. We have updated their YA collection, and they have a cute teen section just for you with comfy seats and a study area. Much better than the few dark shelves you used to have, huh? π

Ehh. The writing was interesting, but not enough to pull me through a whole lot of nothing happening. I could see the author was going for romantic and surreal but all I got was cliché and flat. Too bad.
#currentlyreading | Bloody annoyingly typical opening. Here's hoping the end goes far in a different direction! #seasonsreadings
I actually read most books without ever looking at the blurb! I tend to go on recommendations and synopses online rather than blurbs, which I often find too pithy and a bit misleading. I did read the blurb for this one though, and it definitely got me to pick it up shortly after I got it. #bestblurbs #YA #UKYA #seasonsreadings2016
It was my favorite thing to do---eat and read. The world just shut up for a while.
Love these chapter headings! Now let's see if I can actually finish this #overdrive book before it expires! #ebook #nook #librarybook
I liked this book. βοΈβοΈβοΈIt's getting a lot of negative reviews here and on Goodreads, which I don't really understand. It wasn't amazing and making me run out to buy a copy as gifts for everyone, but I'm looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the series.
This book got panned. I guess I just feel kinship with outsiders. So is the magic real or not and what is she?
Thank you, thank you @LibrarianRyan I love the bookmarks and the book, but more than that I loved taking part in your challenge! Thanks again for putting it together!!!

Love the cover and the premise seemed interesting enough (it's been compared to the movie The Craft) but it was eh. It was a quick read but not much happened until the end. My cat wasn't being too photogenic.
