A Christmassy romcom which was cute, but not really my thing. I liked the idea, but the ex boyfriends were unnecessary added drama, and if the main character just opened up to friends and family and potential partners (past and present) there would have been less stress! 😂

I like the idea of Christmas camp though, and the Christmas lake traditions. And Comet the dog was great!

You can definitely tell this was written for Hallmark Christmas lovers, and it's already been made into a movie. A cute story of a romance writer who doesn't celebrate Christmas bc she lost her dad at the holidays. Now she has to write a Christmas romance, and host Christmas Camp. And while she's falling for the inn keeper, her 3 exes show up to try to win her back.

Very much a Hallmark Christmas movie in book form which makes it between a so-so & pick for me but I‘m rounding it up for holiday cheer + I chose it looking for light & happy. About a Christmas-avoiding romance author who must lead a Christmas Camp at a snowy lodge to publicize her next book & 3 of her past loves show up to surprise her. I have loved all of Karen Schaler‘s Hallmark-y #Christmas books. This story features Riley, who has not celebrated Christmas since she was just eight years old. Of course Riley will be immersed in holiday adventures and of course she will find new joy in Christmas. (This is my favorite Christmas trope!!) There are some serious nods to Mamma Mia and The Bachelorette. I really loved it and will likely reread it before Christmas even gets here🎄

It‘s WAY too soon to think of Christmas although I am looking for 2020 to be over & done. I signed up on a book tour for this one because I needed something light & Hallmarky. I had to catch up on a work project much of the day, then I finished the book for tomorrow‘s #sundaybuddyread discussion & since it was pretty heavy, I wanted something low effort & low emotional investment for the rest of the night. (With hulless popcorn of course!) 😉🍿😋
