Sharing this cover because I love it so much. It hits every detail. What are your favorites? I love the zoom earrings, iPhone in her lap, and takeout container hidden behind the laptop. My home office is often in a similar state. #coronayear

Andrea313 Shorts and slippers paired with the nice top; phone in hand; laptop on a stack of books: it me! 3y
SamAnne I love this cover too! 3y
paulfrankspencer Unshaven legs. Totally me. 3y

readordierachel The laptop propped up on the books is an excellent bit of realism. I feel seen 😆 3y
AmyG The New Yorker always has great covers. I think you can even buy covers to frame. 3y
vivastory Definitely the folding screen hiding a messy bedroom. God this is so relatable 😂 3y
Blaire @Andrea313 same. Tho today I‘m in sweats. 3y
Blaire @SamAnne @amyg I plan to frame this one and hang it in my home office. 3y
Blaire @readordierachel yep; I have a con law book that has been put to good use in that manner. @vivastory and the sink full of dishes and empty Cheetos bag. 😂 3y
BarbaraBB And the cocktail in her right hand 😂. Love it. I am mostly combining mascara with sweat pants 😉 and my phone in my lap indeed! 3y
KVanRead Love this!! 3y

We sat down on the rubber floor, joining a group of young white women staring raptly at a petite holistic nutritionist, who advised us to engage in resistance training twice a week and to consider going vegetarian if grass-fed beef was outside our budget. “Eighty to ninety percent of what you eat should have a point,” she said. I pictured the sausage-egg-and cheese bagel sandwich I‘d eaten on the train to Boston. (cont)

suzisteffen It had a point, I thought. I was hungover before I ate it, and after I ate it I was not hungover anymore. 5y

I sure wish I could count all of the New Yorker magazine reading I do for Litsy. 😂 Anyway, this is from Jia Tolentino‘s March 18, 2019, article called “Athleisure Time,” mostly about the brand Outdoor Voices.

“‘Doing things is better than not doing things, I told my boyfriend, who was still in bed after a week of thirteen-hour workdays at an architecture firm. ‘You look like a mommy blogger dressed as the Easter Bunny,‘ he said.”

These were the replenishments for my #NYC-Set Display 😊! (All of the displays are getting wiped out 😱!!! Lots and lots and lots of reading going on!)

Have you read any of these?!

Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick I just finished listening to Manhattan Beach a few weeks ago. It was interesting but also a bit of a slog. It could benefit from some editing but then adding a little more action & intrigue. 5y

Pickpick

A block in Manhattan, the people that live there, their dogs, and their relationships (with both people and dogs) - that‘s what this book is about. It was actually pretty good. #LitsyAtoZ #LetterN #ReadingUSA2019 #NewYork

Librarybelle Sounds cute! 5y

BarbaraBB You‘re going fast! 5y

Mehso-so

I wanted to like this book more than I did. It's such a nice concept - a bunch of NewYorkers meeting each other through their dogs and dog walking. It's a sweet story but I never really connected with any of the characters. Well at least not the humans! The dogs were great 😂😃

MicheleinPhilly This sounds like a review of my daily life. 😉 7y
Centique @MicheleinPhilly 😂 Well fair enough! Dogs are often nicer than people 👍 7y

Has anyone ever noticed their library overdrive site not adding any new titles in weeks? In ANY category??? This is the case with NYPL and I have no idea how they could not be adding new books! I tried tweeting them and they didn't answer. What gives #NYPL?

Notafraidofwords It's the same here. It could be weeks before I see anything new. I'm not sure why. 8y
Megabooks So weird @Hazel0303 and @Notafraidofwords . My overdrive gets added to all the time. Not trying to brag, just say that's not true all over the country. 8y
Notafraidofwords @Ebooksandcooks oh I wish I had that problem. 8y

Bookzombie My library has a newsletter called Wowbrary that I get every Saturday that shows me what's new. I think other libraries have it too. You might check and then you would know what new stuff they get and when. 8y
Bookzombie The email is for the whole library but also new ebooks and audiobooks for Overdrive. 8y
Hazel0303 Thanks @Bookzombie I will look into that! It's so strange @Ebooksandcooks the Buffalo overdrive site adds stuff constantly and the NYPL has been at a stand still recently. You would think it would be the opposite, you know?? 8y
Hazel0303 Sorry @Notafraidofwords I meant to add you to my response above also. 8y
Notafraidofwords @Hazel0303 thanks! I'm going to look into the newsletter thing. I love free books! 8y
