Hi everyone! I hope everyone had a great Easter. I was very busy this weekend. I didn't have alot time for reading. I'm happy I least finished Sapphire Blue. I really enjoyed the second book. I'm looking forward to read the last book. #litsy #kindle #kindlefire #paperwhite

This is what I call "middle book filler syndrome" where the author wants to stretch it to a trilogy when in actuality, it could've been a duology. It felt like a lot of repeating activities and spinning your wheels plot-wise which was kinda frustrating. I still enjoyed it but this could've been cut down and a hundred extra pages could've been added to book one and three. I also thoroughly detest this cover

Maddeline It‘s one of my favorites❤️❤️❤️ 5y

Ugh I kinda hate myself cause these covers make me angry but I actually enjoyed Ruby Red and really wanna pick this up today

LaLecture Ugh, the German covers are so beautiful! What did they do to these poor books in the English editions 😭? Hope you‘ll still enjoy the books. I loved the whole series :). (edited) 5y
SassenachTheBookWizard @LaLecture we ruin a lot of books with these basic covers. They literally just revealed a sequel for Natalie Parker's book and swapped out this fire pirate symbol for white-ish girls on a pirate ship 5y
julesG @LaLecture Agree, the German covers are wonderful. I just can't get into the story. It's been sitting on my shelf since August. 5y
emtobiasz Ah, see, teenage me totally would have picked this up for this cover 😂 I read the entire Luxe series just based on the pretty dresses on their covers, too 5y

Ruby Red, book 2, translated by Anthea Bell.

Gwen is learning to navigate her abilities and trying to solve the mystery of the Circle. Lucy and Paul seem trustworthy, but everyone keeps telling her they are the villains. Luckily, she has the help of her best friend (and Google), her various ghost companions, and the hilarious gargoyle demon Xemerius. I found her insta-love with Gideon annoying, but otherwise this is a fun read.

It's cold and dark outside and after some serious reads I need something light... I hope the German is not too hard as I'm rusty ;)

julesG It's not the first in the series, I hope you know that. The first is Rubinrot, which I still have to read. 6y
catsuit_mango @julesG thanks Jules, yes I've read Rubinrot already but as I took some time in between my German needs to be reactivated every time I read a new one ;) I don't practice enough. 6y
julesG Sounds like me and my French. 6y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Sapphire Blue. It still had that juvenile feel to it for the ages of the characters, but the mystery and plot twists have intensified making the story much more interesting than the first.

"Why couldn't Gideon act normal? First he kissed me (more than once, at that!), then he was back to talking like a lordly Grand Master of the Guardians' Lodge again."

Why is Gideon so insufferable?

I'm enjoying this series so far. It's fun, and funny, and a light easy read which is exactly what I was in the mood for. And bonus! My Dove's chocolate promises told me to "Actually go to a bookstore." Well, you don't have to tell me twice! ?? #easyreading #chocolate #whythehellnot
