England has a new sleuth--Simon Kirby-Jones, who is not only a vampire, but an American to boot. Settling in the village of Snupperton Mumsley, Simon's preternatural senses are tuned for trouble as he looks into the mysterious death of the village's mean spirited postmistress.

Fun, fluffy read about a vampire amateur sleuth in an English village. Not great literature but good escapism.

Not so great a week for me #bookfitnesschallenge wise. Walked 1.02 miles today, and eating has been on and off. My son, as you can see in the pic, made delicious homemade cinnamon rolls, which I‘m a sucker for, but don‘t need. I may not be able to swim for awhile because I need to have a cyst on my back lanced. 😞

Megabooks Those look so good!! I don‘t blame you. And hey, you‘re adapting. You still walked, you still finished a book!! 👍🏻👍🏻 Next week will be even better! 5y
cobwebmoth Sorry this week hasn't been what you hoped, but you still accomplished something. The book sounds fun.😊 5y

KathyWheeler @Megabooks They were amazing! My son is a fantastic cook. 5y
KathyWheeler @cobwebmoth Thanks! I have to remember to focus on the positive. The book was total fluff — perfect for my mood.😊 5y
wanderinglynn Those cinnamon rolls look delicious! 😋 You had a good walk today, so celebrate what you have done! You are making great progress, you're moving forward, and most importantly, you haven't quit! Adapt your goals if needed since you won't be able to swim for a while. I hope everything goes well and your back heals quickly. 💚 5y
rockpools Those look so good, and your area always looks so gorgeous! Sorry to hear you can‘t swim for a while. Great going on the walk though, and sometimes fluff is exactly what we need! 5y
Emilymdxn The book sounds like some great escapism, and there‘s a lot to be proud of there! Good walk, delicious cinnamon rolls. I‘m sorry to hear about the swimming, similar to me not being able to run with my ankles, but we can reroute and adapt our goals. I‘ve got a new plan that doesn‘t involve running and we can style it out whatever happens to us #goteam 5y
KathyWheeler You all do just a great job of encouragement! Thank you.😊 5y
cewilf That sounds like a super fun book. I love vampire stories. I hope everything gets sorted out so you can swim soon! That‘s definitely frustrating. But you got a mile in! Definitely better than no miles at all :) And those cinnamon rolls..I could not resist those 😂 5y
KathyWheeler @cewilf I don‘t ever buy cinnamon rolls because they are always gigantic, but a good homemade one? I can‘t resist. I haven‘t had one since I was a teenager and my mom made them! 5y
ferskner Those cinnamon rolls! 😍 5y

I love Miranda James‘ books for light reading. MJ is Dean James‘ pseudonym, and I‘ve read DJ before as well; however, I did not know there was a vampire detective series under either name, so I‘m checking it out for some light reading tonight.
