"Day 1: Favorite Book in a Series"

Angels & Demons by Dan Brown, hands down. I read this for the first time in high school and have loved it ever since.

Possibly a low pick.

I think I read The DaVinci Code in middle school, and though even then I didn't seriously entertain the fictional, I am surprised at how much I needed to suspend disbelief reading this. That said, it was sufficiently entertaining and exciting.

I've been rereading books in my collection to keep or give away. I really am at the point where I've read everything fiction in my house!

Finished Deception Point and Digital Fortress (DF is still the best of Dan Brown, I think) so now it's on to Robert Langdon.

I had high hopes for the story but it fell short of it. Mostly because the many twists were clear see-throughs, many questions were unanswered or rather had really vague explanations and in some cases none at all. The vagueness of breakins and killings is too uncanny for the level of depth percieved. It is surely intriguing and gripping but it is too shallow at points. I don't think i would follow up with series.

It was a good read. I liked the 1st book better tho. Watched the movie as well(Both angels and demons and the da Vinci code). Movies seem so high paced after reading the very descriptive books of Dan Brown. Intersting book overall.

I haven‘t read this in a long time, so it was great getting to read it again before getting to the newest book in the series. I remembered more of the movie than the book. The book is much different, with some characters being cut out of the movie entirely. I think I like the book version far better than the movie version. I liked the book the first time around, but I liked it even better this time around, somehow.

GingerAntics The book starts under Sede Vacante, which, when referring to the papacy, is “vacant thrown.” So I guess the thrown was temporarily not vacant, because Robert was borrowing The Holy Throne. 🤣😂🤣 2y

I read this 11 years ago. In 2009 I kept this in my bag to give me something to do to stay out of the way when my mother was arguing with my grandmother to shower at the nursing home. I remember it, but don‘t. I just watched the movie so I‘m having a go with it again, to refresh my memory on all the places Robert Langdon has been before starting Origin for the first time.

GingerAntics The last time I read this, ebooks were in their infancy and no one was sure about them. #DanBrown #RobertLangdonSeries #AngelsAndDemons 2y

So I thought I would be tagging this as a reread but as it turns out the only thing I remembered was the controversy in the telling and the mystery in the religious symbols. 137 chapters, and not once did I finish a chapter and recall what would happen next. It‘s a particularly interesting read in these days regarding fearful efforts of religion to stifle science.

This book had some good qualities to it. I was very intrigued by all the historical aspects and different things about the Illuminati that was presented. Unfortunately, I was left slightly disappointed to read through the entire book and have picked out early who the villain was and what happens with the weapon. It was a let down because of the built expectations of the evil in the book, only to have the rug ripped out in a anticlimactic reveal.

Wow.. What a fantastic book I've read so far. Really an awesome read, pounding cliffhanger and i literally sense anxiety while i read some pages. I wished go go go run faster.. Yeah go go.. I was literally running jumping and doing stuff while i read. The monstrous places, beautiful artifacts, humongous plans and deceitful people all took this to a next level. Cat chase everywhere and i was totally carried out by those characters. CSK fans, go 4't

Angels & Demons movie: in comparison to the book, it stayed relatively spot on in relation to the book. My only disappointment is that the movie left out the father references (without giving away any spoilers). I felt like that was key to why individuals acted in the manner that they did in the book.

GingerAntics I noticed the same thing about the movie vs the book. Still a pretty good movie. No idea why people disliked it so much. 🤷🏼‍♀️ I mean, I know why the Catholic Church hates the books and the movies so much, but that‘s another story. 2y

Texreader @freeatlast1137 I know. I don‘t do Facebook, which I guess is similar. And other than posting photos on Instagram I‘m not very active there either. So it was a huge learning curve. If you read the Litsy tips though they are very helpful. 2y

New book interest.
This time I didn‘t go through my usual lengthy period of indecision. When I turned on the tv last night there was a trailer showing for Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. There was Tom Hanks in all his magnificence looking just like Mr. Rogers. And while Mr. Rogers bio should have been the next choice...it was not.🙄👇🏽

Nute Tom Hanks got me to thinking about symbology, secret brotherhoods and Illuminati and then BAM!💥 Razor-edged clarity of thought! Frankly I was lead to The Da Vinci Code, but I found out that this is the first book of the Robert Langdon adventures. So excited to get with this series finally! 2y
thegirlwiththelibrarybag Hope you enjoy it ☺️ 2y
kiks I haven't read the last few in the series but I did really enjoy this one and of course Da Vinci code 2y
Nute @thegirlwiththelibrarybag I did enjoy it. It was a very cerebral experience! I didn‘t care for the “who did it” wrap up. I was much happier when the good guy was a good guy and we needed a miracle! 2y
Nute @kiks I almost went right to The Da Vinci Code. That‘s how strong the pull was after enjoying this book. I might read it in the fall. 2y

It's a Dan Brown's novel and I have to say it's one of his best ( Cuz Digital Fortress is my fav). The details in this book are so good that you'll read for them instead of the story. The climax, the story and the characterization every thing is to the point. It's always fun to read a Dan Brown's novel. It's definitely a good read.
