This was lovely, sweet, and wise, and I guess counts as an #AuthorAMonth read! 😁 I just always love Ann Patchett‘s writing and the sound of her voice reading it. I meant to get to Run this month, too - but having some of her backlist to look forward to isn‘t a bad thing.
A quick read and a great gift for graduates. This is an extension of Patchett‘s commencement speech at Sarah Lawrence College.

Full of Patchett‘s gentle humor and kindness, I recommend this extension of her graduation speech at Sarah Lawrence. #authoramonth @Soubhiville
This is the Graduation speech that Anne Patchett gave at her Alma Mater, Sarah Lawrence. Read by the author in her soothing, clear voice, it was wonderful! She shares personal stories that shaped her life. Thank you @Soubhiville for choosing Anne as #AuthorAMonth. I have read many of her books, but I only found this because of the challenge. Ever since, I heard her speak at an author‘s event, I have been such a fan girl! And now even more so!
My Girl Child graduates from college this May so I wanted to read this to see if she would like it - it's wonderful!! A quick read (literally like 20 minutes) it's full of wisdom for any age or phase of life, really. 🤓
Since I‘m a rreeaallyy slow reader, I chose this short nugget for the #finishinaday #Booked2020 prompt. It was a refreshing look at different crossroads in our lives. Patchett delivered a slightly different version as a commencement address at Sarah Lawrence. No earth-shattering revelations (if you‘ve heard one commencement address...), but it‘s always nice to remind yourself that crossroads aren‘t just scary, they can be exciting too.
Apparently I have fallen behind in my Goodreads challenge. Time to break out the short books!
Amazon opening across street from Ann Patchett‘s store. The difference between the two. #parnassusbooks https://www.nashvillepublicradio.org/post/what-happens-when-amazon-opens-across-...
I am out of book, but these two say I'm not allowed to get up to get another one. #Narcissa #Loki #CatsOfLitsy #CatLadyProblems
#AdelesMayMashUp Day 25: My nephew is visiting us in Singapore after having some trouble at home in the Philippines. I am hoping that the books I have prepared for him will help him become #RightAsRain, and pave the way out of his existential funk. Bibliotherapy works, or so I declare.
The text of Ann Patchett's graduation speech at Sarah Lawrence, this is a thoughtful meditation on the unknown path of life. It speaks to everyone, especially when we are each at a crossroads. The audio is read by the author, which I enjoyed.
Wise words from this talented, entertaining, and incredibly inspirational author, speaking at a literacy fundraising event. She said her words on paper are never as good as they were in her head. But, she has learned to forgive herself and realize she has done the best she can.
I read this great little book this past weekend - This book was based on Ms Pachett commencement address at Sarah Lawrence College . For anyone at a crossroads in their life. - "Just because things hadn't gone the way I had planned didn't necessarily mean they had gone wrong."
