Sorry not book related #sorrynotsorry

I cannot believe what the feck is going on right now.

This is white privilege at its highest peak. We have known police aren‘t here to protect people of color. I‘ve seen the violence first hand at PEACEFUL BLM protest here in Portland. People got broken bones just for standing up for black lives yet these Trump Terrorist can do what ever the feck they want cause they are white and you know that‘s true.

DGRachel It‘s beyond horrific. 3y
LibrarianRyan Its just OMG. And that recorded message from the cheeto. What a POS. Least he could do is spread his lies live. 3y
Jen_Reads This is terrifying. 3y

kspenmoll Just my thoughts & some of my colleagues while watching this unfold at work. 3y
kspenmoll My work colleagues & I were glued to CNN today & spoke of the same things you are saying here. White privilege for sure. Horrific. Trump & his sin inciting violence. 3y
Hooked_on_books It‘s chilling how true this tweet is. 3y
MittenGirlPeach So, so true. 3y
TheRiehlDeal Also, officers were posing for selfies with some of the people who broke in. Absolutely sickening! 3y
That-Bookish-Hiker @TheRiehlDeal I‘ve seen videos of them taking selfies with them and moving barricades and waving them in to the Capital. Like wtf?! 3y
That-Bookish-Hiker @DGRachel @Jen_Reads @Hooked_on_books @MittenGirlPeach I would like to say I‘m surprised but I‘m not. I‘m still outraged though because it appears no one was arrested. 3y
That-Bookish-Hiker @kspenmoll same! Once I saw it on the news there was no way I could continue working. I work in a federal building and I always felt safe working there because of the security. But if they can get into the capital then what about other federal buildings ya know? 3y
That-Bookish-Hiker @LibrarianRyan right?! He does like a compliment sandwich with them. Tells them how awesome they are but go home and we love you. 🙄 3y
Hooked_on_books I‘m not surprised, either, and really no one should be. It is as clearly building to this and not only did legislators do nothing to stop it, the ones protesting the electoral college vote encouraged it, even if tacitly. The Hill is reporting that 52 people were arrested and the FBI is investigating. https://thehill.com/homenews/533057-dc-police-arrest-dozens-during-rioting-at-ca... 3y
DGRachel I want to be surprised, but as others have said-this is what the last four years have been leading up to and I hate to sound like some conspiracy nut, but you don‘t storm the Capitol without law enforcement being complicit. I‘m still so angry 😡 3y

It has been a long week in the US. And okay so the book in the picture is not the same book tagged but the chapter title was too perfect. Feeling grateful today for the privilege to vote. Feeling grateful for possibilities. Feeling grateful for hope.

Yes! I‘m so relieved I cried. We still have a lot of work but man this feels good.

Traci1 I don't think i realized how stressed I have been the past 4 years until this moment. I feel a sense of peace that has been absent. There's still a lot of work to do, but I finally feel like we have the means to do that work. 3y
AmyG Now I have a chance at seeing my Grandson in 2021. 🎉 3y
DGRachel Yes! I‘ve been crying tears of relief for half an hour and I feel like I can breathe for the first time in 4 years. Like @Traci1 said, there‘s still a lot of work to do, but I‘m going to take a day to celebrate and breathe. 3y

Anyone watching the democratic debate tonight?

Catsandbooks @Come-read-with-me Thoughts? Any favorite candidates? 5y
Come-read-with-me @Catsandbooks I thought Warren was strong. Biden didn‘t have as many good moments and Bernie seemed off. Booker had a good night and looked better than in previous debates. However, the overall winner was Obama - everyone was championing him! What about you? 5y

Catsandbooks @Come-read-with-me Oh how I miss Obama!! I thought Warren did well too. I like Booker and Harris a lot. I also thought Buttigieg and O'Rourke had some good comments. I'd really like to see a younger candidate get the nomination instead of Biden, Sanders, or Warren. I think it could invigorate the party! But we'll see! 5y
Come-read-with-me @catsandbooks I also like Harris. Wish she‘d had a stronger showing. Castro has always appealed to me, but I was disappointed in him. 5y
Catsandbooks @Come-read-with-me I agree, Castro wasn't at his best in that debate. Now we wait for the next debate. 5y
