#series
I had no idea that the lovely Jólabókaflóðið book I received from Christine was part of a series- thank you Diane for pointing that out! As I am at the library, I had to look for the first in the series and it was on the shelf!

My husband asked me why I was at the library when I had so many Christmas gifted books to read- my texted response was: “Why not?! I can never have enough books…”

TheBookHippie OH I knew that- I thought since it was in your TBR wish list you were reading the series 😂😅 oops. The covers are really pretty on a lot of them -they come into the used bookstore a lot that I volunteer at. People love them. 🤍 2y
Crazeedi That's awesome Katherine! Enjoy, I loved the series, I'm not sure if I read this one. I'll have to check goodreads! 2y

Crazeedi And of course that's what you say, just like when Miles said yesterday 'no more books you're out of control!' I just looked at him, and shook my head, some people just don't get it!!😉🥰 2y

kspenmoll @Crazeedi I think this is the first in the series! 2y
kspenmoll @TheBookHippie No oops! I can read your gift anyway, it‘s Christmas one! 2y

TheBookHippie @kspenmoll Well it looked and sounded gorgeous! So enjoy! And BAHAHAHAHA. Well, there is no such thing as too many books. I always ask people how many movies or tv they watch.......teeheehee. 2y
TheBookHippie @Crazeedi Oh dear! Why do they not understand! HAHAHAHA. 2y
Crazeedi @TheBookHippie maybe has something to do bv with priorities? Mine vs his??!!😁 2y
Crazeedi @kspenmoll yes I think it is and yes I'm sure you could read the Christmas one!! 2y

#TryMySnacks #Ireland. The box comes with a booklet including lots of fun facts. My favorite snack was the drink this month, Ben Shaws dandelion and burdock. I'm loving An Irish Country Doctor so far. I'm listening to the audio book, laughed out loud several times today.

Butterfinger This is what I told my girls I want for Christmas 🎄. 3y
sblbooks @Butterfinger I was planning on getting my Mom one or two for Christmas. I think there are 15 in the series. 3y
Chrissyreadit Ok, I‘m thinking I should get these books also. Maybe on audio 3y

#20Series20days Day 4

I love most books set in Ireland and these are no exception. Good characters and a lovely setting. It‘s the type of story that I like to read after something hard hitting or more emotionally draining. #15 is due out later this year which means it‘s time for me to read #14.

Andrew65 Sounds another winner, I‘m with you on books set in Ireland. 🇮🇪 4y

#Top20Series #Day1

Starting the #20Series20Days challenge set by the inimitable @Andrew65 Starting of with the Irish Country Doctor series because it‘s one that both hubby and I enjoy, so there‘s never an issue about buying these books 😊 Feel free to join in, because who doesn‘t want ideas for their TBR? 😂

Andrew65 Already a new one, I need to explore this! 4y
EadieB I own a few of these books. 4y

Libby1 I could give you loads of suggestions! I‘m American but have lived in NI for 20 years. My favourite fiction books set in NI are by David Park. They are all 5 star reads for me. If you want a political thriller I‘d recommend The Truth Commissioner. I‘ll tag some other books by him in more comments. 4y
Libby1 Some short stories set in NI. Don‘t let the title fool you! 😊 4y

Libby1 I‘m currently reading a book of writings by North Irish women. It‘s excellent so far! It‘s called North Star, but it‘s brand new and isn‘t on the system here yet. 4y

An absolutely delightful story of Doctor Barry Laverty, a new medical school graduate that travels to the remote rural town of Ballybucklebo to work under the tutelage of Dr. Fingal Flaherty O‘Reilly. I loved the cast of quirky characters, the setting and even the recipes thrown in at the end. Mostly I loved watching the relationship between mentor and mentee grow. The writing was lovely, filled with light humor. an overall feel good story.

#bookhaul pt. 2

-The Irish Country Doctor series is one I've been meaning to get into. Love me some pastoral settings.

-Haven't heard of Cisnero before now, but this collection looked really nice and was on sale.

-I'm a fan of the Nichijou anime, but could never get into the manga. This new series from author Keiichi Arawi looks more promising.

A new doctor begins his career in a tiny village in Northern Ireland. I really enjoyed this story. The characters are interesting and colorful, there's the beginning of a love story, and I love books set in Ireland. I'll definitely read the rest of the series. #LitsyAtoZ #LetterI @BookishMarginalia

#fallintobooks Day 4 #occupationintitle

Funny story about this one. I put it on my TBR Bingo, but upon checking my shelf, I discovered I actually had the second book in the series. I just happened to find this one at a book sale this weekend. So, whoops. I had to buy a book to complete my TBR Bingo, originally created to keep me from buying books.

This was something I randomly saw on the library shelf, and, on a whim, decided to read. I was pleasantly surprised- it's actually quite good, and I'm glad it's a series. As far as the story goes, it's kind of what you'd get if James Herriot lived in 1960s Northern Ireland, and was a doctor instead of a vet.

Switching it up from murder and mysteries and trying this one out. So far I'm enjoying it more then I expected which is a pleasant surprise.

What a sweet, light read! I will definitely seek solace in the people of Ballybucklebo again when I find I've been on a murder-drenched reading binge in the future. Because that happens. 🔪🔫📖
