After kids didn‘t show today and horrific road conditions, multiple accidents and slide offs of teenagers going to and from school and little 4 year olds frost bite -school is closed here tomorrow.
I guess exams and testing can be rescheduled. Idiots. OYTOTHEVEY

TheBookHippie @Read4life we are over 36 inches as of yesterday and my yard stick, we have to be almost 4 ft (-by the lake we just get pummelled- drive out 20 -30 min and it‘s not as much ..) most ppl didn‘t have school. We‘re in testing and exams.. so we go, however principal apologised at noon to the high school -said she made the wrong decision…roads are ICE. We should have never went today. 3mo

It's not obvious how deep this snow is, but we've had a lot 9 inches since Christmas. This is the first white Christmas I can remember, there might have been another one. Either way the county shut down yesterday. I guess we had more than one bus go off the road. I'm at the top of a hill so you can guess what I'll be doing for the rest of the week: 📚 📖 👓 📚 #snowday ❄ ⛄ ☃️

Magpiegem It looks beautiful! We get no snow by the coast here, but we used to live somewhere it snowed all the time. I miss it! 2y

mandarchy @Magpiegem when it snows here people freak out because they don't get enough practice driving in it, we don't have the road clearance infrastructure to support safe travel, and the hills. My house is 430 feet above sea level and sea level is just a few blocks over. Even the snow is different because we are close to the sea, it's heavy and icy making it harder to shovel or remove. 2y

Magpiegem @mandarchy I live in England so we shut down at snowflake no. 5 😂 we don‘t have any infrastructure for it at all because it just doesn‘t happen very often but I used to live very high up & we got now much more frequently & the local villages looked after each other. I kept a emergency snow store (UHT milk, toilet rolls, wine - the essentials) in our village hall because the hill was so steep no one could escape once snow started. Stay warm xxx 2y

TheAromaofBooks I have an edition that is illustrated by Tasha Tudor & it's just a delight!! Have you ever read the sequels that William Horwood wrote? It's been years since I read them, but at the time I remember being so surprised that someone could capture the original characters. Horwood said that he wrestled with wanting to write a sequel for a long time, being always horrified by the conclusion of the original that said Toad was a “reformed Toad“ 😂 3y

We live on the coast of New Jersey, where the yellow dot is. It's the border of the rain snow line. Our issue will be quickly dropping temperature that will turn precipitation to ice. We're planning to stay home until Monday morning. I have enough books to read! I hope all my litten friends stay safe, especially @TheDaysGoBy !

Linear In a month and a half I will be leaving El paso texas, where I went to Walmart in shorts today. To Bethesda maryland, where the schools are closed due to snow.... I dont know how to life right now! 5y

TheBookAddict It looks like I‘ll be needing 3-4 books. I‘m in northern IL very close to WI. Schools were closed today so it was a nice break, sadly I don‘t think they‘ll remain closed. 😔 it‘ll be off to work tomorrow on icy roads. 🥶 5y
