Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart
Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart | Sarah MacLean
18 posts | 48 read | 12 to read
She lives for passion.Bold, impulsive, and a magnet for trouble, Juliana Fiori is no simpering English miss. She refuses to play by society's rules: she speaks her mind, cares nothing for the approval of the ton, and can throw a punch with remarkable accuracy. Her scandalous nature makes her a favorite subject of London's most practiced gossips . . . and precisely the kind of woman The Duke of Leighton wants far far away from him.He swears by reputation.Scandal is the last thing Simon Pearson has room for in his well-ordered world. The Duke of Disdain is too focused on keeping his title untainted and his secrets unknown. But when he discovers Juliana hiding in his carriage late one eveningrisking everything he holds dearhe swears to teach the reckless beauty a lesson in propriety. She has other plans, however; she wants two weeks to prove that even an unflappable duke is not above passion.

My opinion actually changed (slightly) on this one! Still loved the premise & the writing was very good, but not as good as book 1. And I feel like I‘ve read at least one wild!heroine/uptight!hero romance in the intervening years that was better than this one. Still a cute romp tho! Def recommend if you‘re in the mood for the aforementioned trope ♥️. ★★★½

Just what a stressful week ordered! Great romance for #audiowalking #audiocooking #audiobaking . I loved the Italian flavor and the cranky duke who needs to loosen up! #romantsy

ChasingOm I love these books. 4y

Enjoyable romance. I love finding alternative covers, especially when I‘ve read the ebook.

Oh, regency romance powering me through my work days! Another delightful book by MacLean - when a duke becomes entangled with a scandal-ridden young woman, will his reputation stand? Not as steamy as the first two, but still quite enjoyable.

First book of 2019 done! It feels good to have a clean slate and it was nice to start with a comfort read from a favorite author. I probably liked this one the least of the Love By Numbers series (the wager doesn‘t really make much sense), but it‘s still a fun read and I liked Juliana as a heroine. #romantsy

#Romantsy September concludes with a fun Sarah MacLean . Simon is a snooty duke, nicknamed The Duke of Disdain. Juliana Fiori is the scandalous half sister of Simon‘s childhood friend. He is prim and proper and she‘s fiery and impulsive: sparks fly 🔥

ReadZenRites I think I have to take issue with the title. It‘s such a luscious cover, couldn‘t it it have just been “to Win a Duke‘s Heart”? Was the “to Start” really necessary? Sorry, stepping off soapbox now...😁 6y
Dragon Thanks @ReadZenRites it is a very long title. 🐉 6y

This was my first Romance on Audio and what a different experience. It probably won‘t be my last!!

I really enjoyed this story. It took me a minute to realize who the 2 protagonists were. Also, I loved that I realized that the woman Leighton was supposed to marry was Penelope, who is the protagonist for A Rogue By Any Other Name!

Now to read the next set of books by Sarah MacLean Scandal & Scoundrel.

I think Tony could tell I was annoyed with him last night, because he got up early with Lane and let me sleep in. Then they went to the park to play and I stayed in bed and read this - I enjoyed it much more than the previous book in the series. #litsypartyofone is off to a good start! Now to decide what's next...

I was so excited to read Juliana and Simon's story. It was built up through the previous 2 novels in this connected series - and it was great! Loved every second of the drama, scandal and fun. #romantsy

My love for Sarah MacLean is boundless. She is definitely an autobuy for me. Every time I finish one of her books I decide it's my favorite but I they're just all my favorite. Now I have to find something to fill my Sarah MacLean shaped hole while I wait for the next book in her current series.

leftonlisa I know how you feel! I just read Lenora Bell's How the Duke Was Won and it did a pretty good job filling that hole. 8y
