Nameless: A Tale of Beauty and Madness | Lili St. Crow
18 posts | 7 read | 1 reading | 11 to read
New York Times bestselling author Lili St. Crow thrilled legions of fans with her dark paranormal series Strange Angels. Now she has crafted an evocative update of Snow White, set in a vividly imagined world and populated by unforgettable new characters. When Camille was six years old, she was discovered alone in the snow by Enrico Vultusino, godfather of the Seventhe powerful Families that rule magic-ridden New Haven. Papa Vultusino adopted the mute, scarred child, naming her after his dead wife and raising her in luxury on Haven Hill alongside his own son, Nico. Now Cami is turning sixteen. Shes no longer mute, though she keeps her faded scars hidden under her school uniform, and though she opens up only to her two best friends, Ruby and Ellie, and to Nico, who has become more than a brother to her. But even though Cami is a pampered Vultusino heiress, she knows that she is not really Family. Unlike them, she is a mortal with a past that lies buried in trauma. And its not until she meets the mysterious Tor, who reveals scars of his own, that Cami begins to uncover the secrets of her birthto find out where she comes from and why her past is threatening her now.

Of all the cars in New Haven to fall before, I chose Enrico Vultusino‘s long black limousine.
The Dead Harvest had been dry for once, but Mithrus Eve had brought a cargo of snow, a white Mithrusmas for New Have after all.

A hearthstone is nothing but freely given, a heart shared.
The light filled the room for a bare moment as another soul joined the Family. It was a clear glow, and it dyed the whiteness red.

Red as blood.

Mehso-so

This book was somewhat interesting. Some of the things didn't make much sense. I wish it would've expanded more on the magic portion of the story.⭐️⭐️⭐️📚 #Nameless #LiliStCrow #book #books #booksoflitsy #bookporn #bookphoto #bookphotograph #bookphotography #bookporn #bookart #bookaddict #bookaddicts #bookaddiction #bookaholic #bookshelf #bookshelves #bookdesign #snowwhite #bookfeatures #bookfeature #bookhoarder #bookholic #bookhaul #bookjunkie 🍎

I have been trying to find books with #characterswhosharesmyname - do any of you clever Littens know any books with a character named Katja? ❓❓

#riotgram

Joybishoptx No. I'm having the same problem with Joy 7y
LauraBeth Would Katherine suffice? 😀 7y
Jas16 There is a poet Katja Spur 7y

Kalalalatja @Joybishoptx I actually know a book with a character named Joy! 😄 7y
Kalalalatja @LauraBeth unfortunately not, otherwise there would have been a lot to choose from 😄 7y
Kalalalatja @Jas16 I can't find her in the Litsy database, but I will try to look her up! 7y
annahenke Uprooted has a character named Katja but I'm not positive how it's spelled. I listened to it as an audiobook. 7y
Kalalalatja @LauraBeth that sounds really interesting actually! Thank you 👍 7y
Kalalalatja @annahenke nice! Maybe that's the final reason I need for picking it up 😄 7y
Kristy_K Not a character, but an author. 🙂 7y
LauraBeth All I need to know is that it's Jackie Brown meets The Sex Pistols 😀 7y
Kalalalatja @Kristy_K that sounds awesome! My #tbr is blowing up today 😄 7y
Kalalalatja @LauraBeth what more could you want 😄😄 7y
Martta There is a YA series which has a main character called Katja. I think the series was published originally in Norway. The writer is called Ellinor Rafaelsen. That was one of my favourites when I was growing up. 7y
Kalalalatja @Martta Wow, a whole series? That's exciting 👏 7y
Martta Yes, I'm sure it's a series and quite a long one as well. I remember reading many of them when I was younger. I think it must contain atleast 12 books or so. Katja was a very good character if I remember correctly and she had an "addiction" to salt candy. 7y
readinginthedark @Joybishoptx Joy Harjo is a fantastic author! Or if you're interested, there's a book of letters by C.S. Lewis's wife whose name was Joy. 7y
Kalalalatja @Martta maybe I can find a Danish translation somewhere, otherwise I will need to brush up on my Norwegian 😄 7y
Martta Aren't they pretty close to each other? Or is it only Swedish and Norwegian people who can understand each other? I think there might be Danish translation of the series also since they usually do the translations in several nordic languages. Not sure though. 7y
Kalalalatja @Martta yes they are rather close - it is easier for me to read Norwegian than to understand it when spoken though. Which is kinda bad, since my grandmother is from Norway actually 😳 7y
Martta I know the feeling. I'm supposed to understand Swedish because I had to study it for years at school but I don't really speak it at all. 7y
