Off the Page | Jodi Picoult, Samantha van Leer
From #1 New York Times bestselling authors Jodi Picoult and Samantha van Leer, OFF THE PAGE is a tender and appealing YA novel filled with romance, humor, and adventure. Delilah and Oliver shouldn’t be together. But they are together. And just as they’re getting used to the possibility that happily ever after may really, truly be theirs, the universe sends them a message they can’t ignore: they won’t be allowed to rewrite their story. Delilah and Oliver must decide how much they’re willing to risk for love and what it takes to have a happy ending in a world where the greatest adventures happen off the page. “Off the Page is just so sweet and magical. In high school, I would have given ANYTHING to crawl inside one of my favorite books to escape the real world. I wish!”—SARAH DESSEN, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Saint AnythingFrom the Hardcover edition.

This was delightful😊 I loved all the characters and how the author balanced fantasy with real life. The illustrations were enchanting and I would definitely want to read both books again someday ❤️

Definitely ya but a good story. Not my favourite but fun and relatively light. Recommended if you‘re not off put by a bit of teen angst :)

THE SECOND BOOK GOT SO MUCH BETTER.
Oliver is charming and hilarious! Delilah makes me a tad angry, but I still love her. My heart breaks just a bit for Jules and Edgar, but true love always finds a way, right?

I finally finished this follow up to Between the Lines after having to return it to the library several times (oh the plight of the neverending TBR pile). A decent story but I didn‘t enjoy how some of the side characters‘ stories went. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

BOOK REVIEW!!! I will be giving this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.....the book is amazing with unexpected events, but there is just something missing, something that doesn't make you desperate to read it....also the thing is that you know the ending but the fun part is that you MUST read till the end to find out HOW it happened, but I loved it and would totally recommend it to ppl who love fairytales and happy endings ❤️❤️.

Don't you absolutely LOVE books that have illustrations in them!
I recently received this book all the way from Canada (thank you Paige💞). I can't wait to read it soon🙌
--------------------------------------
It hasn't been 24 hours yet and I'm already in love with @litsy . I don't think it's a replacement for bookstagramming (yet) but I LOVE how interactive it is !

LauraBrook Gorgeous! Illustrated books are so wonderful. And what a beautiful copy! I'm so happy you're loving Litsy - it has replaced all other social media for me, aside from the occasional Instagram post. 2y
398.2 Wow that's beautiful! I am going to have to get this book. That's the only problem with Litsy it feeds your addiction lol 😂 2y
Ms_T Glad you're enjoying Litsy. It's a wonderful, giving community 😃 2y

Modern YA fairytale authored by Jodi Picoult and her daughter Samantha.

Kaylamburson This one is super cute! I never read the sequel though. Still on my list! 2y

#bookwormsonboats ?

Other reviews show some adults found this book cliched and the characters self absorbed. Not so the 12yo! I've never heard her laugh so much while reading. So I guess it's for the young at heart.

Seems it's about a teen bookworm who ends up with a fairytale prince come to life in the real world. Not unlike Enchanted! 12yo warns "there is kissing but it's ok" so 12 or 13 and up she thinks.

Centique PS her hat has been signed by a Warriors (rugby league) player. 3y

Question: do you have to read the other book by Jodi Picoult first? Or can you read this as a standalone? :o 📚

booksyaknow I've heard that you can read that one as a standalone, just that you'll get more out of it if you read between the pages first. But I haven't read either one myself yet 😅 3y
XinaHailey @acereads oh! Perhaps I'll have to get the other first then :) thankyou!! 3y

Bailedbailed

I always want to like Jodi Picoult books, but I can't stand her characters. They have awful morals and the teens in this particular book are so self absorbed that I couldn't even finish the book.

zoeymuses.aboutbooks Have you read the storyteller? That's the only one I've read and quite liked it😊 2y

In fairness to this book, I had no idea what it was going in, and had I known it was YA fantasy/romance I would adjusted my expectations accordingly. I just saw Jodi Picoult and asked no questions. This is not the usual, dependable Jodi Picoult book I know and love. After 100 pages I honestly didn't care.

Pnkprinses You have to read the first one...duh 3y
EmilyElizabeth @Pnkprinses the authors intended for it stand alone. 3y

I wanted to love this one, it's cute and well written. I just couldn't really get into it. I think the alternating perspectives accompanied by altering text colors really threw me out of the story. Lovers of Ella Enchanted or just Enchanted might enjoy this one!

Notafraidofwords I read the first one a while back and loved it. 3y
AngelErin I read the first one, it was okay. :) 3y
CatLadyBibliophile @Notafraidofwords @AngelErin I'll be honest part of the struggle I had was because I haven't read the first one. I'll have to go back and do so! 3y

This book was purely magical. I love the message of hope and how it makes you see the process of reading and writing from a totally different perspective. And YAY for fictional boyfriends coming to life. This is a MUST read! 💗
