From Canadas new queen of suspense, another hugely entertaining supernatural thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat. Prepare to be enchanted . . . Forget the cackling green hag in The Wizard of Oz, forget Samantha from Bewitched. Real witches are nothing, NOTHING like this. For years real witches have hidden their powers, afraid of being persecuted. They have integrated so well into the community, you could have a witch living right next door and never know about it. Take Paige, for instance, whom we first met in Kelley Armstrongs novel Stolen. Just an ordinary twenty-something who runs her own website design company, worries about her weight and wonders if shell ever find a boyfriend. Okay, so shes leader of the American Coven and guardian of Savannah, the teenage daughter of a black witch. Really, life is ordinary. But then a telekinetic half-demon, Leah ODonnell, shows up to fight for custody of Savannah. And although Paige is ready for her, shes not quite so prepared for the team of supernaturals that Leah brings with her, including a powerful sorcerer who claims to be Savannahs father. When all hell breaks loose -- literally -- and Paige is accused of witchcraft, Satanism and murder, the Coven, fearing exposure, abandons her. Cut off from her friends, Paige is forced against her better judgment to accept the help of a young sorcerer lawyer. And she quickly comes to realize that keeping Savannah could mean losing everything else. Breathtakingly thrilling, hip and funny, this new novel is another page-turning triumph from an author who is going from strength to strength. I had a feeding frenzy on my front lawn, an unconscious paranormal investigator on my stairs, and, somewhere out there, an entire Cabal special projects team devoted to ruining my life. -- from Dime Store Magic From the Trade Paperback edition.

It took me a while to get back to Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series, but I finally did and enjoyed this one, which featured witch Paige teaming up with a sorcerer to protect her young ward Savannah.

This novel was all about witches, spells and magic, so it was a good one for the word search game, with 776 words found!

Forgot to take a pic before I reshelved it, so here‘s my reading companion on my hip.

Read so long ago I‘d forgotten 99%, I‘m working my way through the whole series. I had read 10/13 before but remember little. Paige was really annoying - naive and overachieving and oblivious, but she did get a little better. I wish she‘d slapped Victoria silly. Just have to remember this is still series set-up. Low pick.

This time for #WeekendReading I‘m working on Sense and Sensibility for #PemberLittens, hope to finish the tagged, and have a section of This Life to read for #DeadPhilosophersSociety. It‘s looking like a cold and rainy day here so I hope to spend this afternoon doing little but reading. 🤞🏻

Andrew65 A classic read. Enjoy. 2y

I finally got the kiddo to finish her schoolwork early enough, and the weather is nice enough, to get to the park and playground - only to realize I left my book at home! 😭

SRWCF Noooo! Guess you'll be playing on the playground equipment! 2y

Kelley Armstrong's Otherworld is full of magic and supernatural beings and although not all of the books focus on witches, each cover incorporated a #pentagram until the series switched to the "little black book" style. #WitchyReads

Linsy What a great way to tie them together! 6y

Fans of this author will find this to be a fun and engaging read, similar to her other books. One quibble: there wasn‘t a lot of build-up for the romantic elements. I still found the relationship believable, however.

I'm glad this book caught my eye at a drugstore years ago because it was introduced me to the Otherworld! Little did I know at the time that Kelley Armstrong would become one of my favourite writers! I've read most of her novels and those I haven't read are on my tbr list. #Judgedbyitscover #MarchIntoReading

GirlNamedJesse This is still one of my favorite series! Great covers throughout, too. 😊 7y

Well everyone was right. Paige did grow on me. I think the love interest with Lucas is really what turned my opinion around. What can I say? I'm a sucker for a romance story line. Overall this book was good. Really looking forward to seeing the what happens next with Savannah and the Lucas/Paige story line.

Just started this book today. Really sad that the story of Clay and Elena isn't continued, and that this book focuses on my least favourite character that was introduced in Stolen. Willing to give a chance though, hoping that Paige will start to grow on me and this book will be as enjoyable as the last 2.

Bookzombie She will grow on you. Or I thought she did. Also, never fear, Elena and Clay will be back. I believe I only have one book left in this series to listen to. 7y

Years ago, I found Dime Store Magic at a drug store & picked it up. At the time, I had no idea that I had found a new author to fall in love with! This is a sample of some of the books on my shelves by #womenwriters. Considering how many books I own, I was surprised to realize just how few of them are by women! I also discovered that there's at least one book by a male writer hiding in these photos - oops. #somethingforsept #septphotochallenge

Although this is book #3 tof the "women of the otherworld" series, it stands alone. Nothing too deep but a lot of fun.
