Book 106

I listened to 1922, a novella that's Wilfred James's confession to murdering his wife. Dark, twisted, and short, it was a great listen. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I saw this at Target and almost bought it, but glad I decided to get it from the library instead since it wasn‘t my favorite King. It was classic King gore, but I just wasn‘t feeling it. 🐀

Third book of the year finished! This is one of my free spaces on #bookspinbingo.

If I had to pick one word it would be feverdream. This whole book read like fever ravings from a madman....which is exactly what a lot of it is. It is horrifying, visceral, and disturbing, all on very deep levels. But a classic SK novella and I'm happy to have finally got my courage up and did it.

Also if you aren't using scribd doooo it.

@TheAromaofBooks

BooksCoffeeNurse @ErinSueMreads Would you say it‘s better than Kindle Unlimited? 2y
ErinSueMreads Definitely! I think its cheaper and they have audio books, book, magazines, articles, and sheet music. Plus you can listen to and read as many books as you want at a time without limits or anything like that you get with the library @BooksCoffeeNurse 2y
BooksCoffeeNurse @ErinSueMreads Awesome I‘ll check it out! 2y

So creepy! And the rats, so awful!
It's got layers, too, beneath the traditional horror elements, this is about being eaten away by guilt. And about the domino effect of bad choices.
A good quick Halloween season read 🎃💀

This one was probably a mix between a pick and so-so for me... I listened to it, but I‘m sure this novella is #Under200Pages. If you are skeeved out by rats, skip this one! If rats don‘t bother you, then it may not be the creepiest King story... I hear there‘s a film adaptation so I may check that out next time I am home alone!! #GratefulReads #AudioColoring

OriginalCyn620 Then I think I‘ll be skipping this one! 😝 (edited) 3y
Bookish.SAM I keep seeing the adaptation on Netflix (I think)... wasn‘t aware of the 🐀 thing... I‘m not a fan! Might have to reconsider it. 3y
MrBook Great film! 3y

TorieStorieS @OriginalCyn620 @Alwayscoolwb @Bookish.SAM I haven‘t seen the movie, but the rats are a big part of the audiobook!! Happy to have warned you!! 🤣 3y
TorieStorieS @MrBook Thanks- my husband hates scary movies so I‘m adding it to my watch list for the next time he‘s away! 😂 3y

This book was very creepy. In some ways, it reminds me of Poe‘s Tell-Tale Heart. Basically, this man recruits his son to help kill his wife over the sale of land. Afterwards, he becomes convinced that she is haunting him. One word, rats 🐀. Creepy, bloody rats.

j9brown I thought the Netflix movie was pretty well done! 3y

*Sigh* My name is Jen and I'm a bookaholic! 🙋🏻 I can't seem to curb my book shopping here lately. Just found another one I couldn't resist! At least it was only $4.99! 😱#stephenking #booknerd #kindle #bookaholic

Kendra.Diane I‘ve never read any of Kings work 🙈 #outnumbered 5y
JenlovesJT47 @Kendra.Diane I didn't start reading his books until a couple of years ago but now I'm trying to collect as many as I can, especially the older ones. Sometime early next year @TricksyTails is going to be starting a read-through of SK's books in order. You should join us! 5y
TricksyTails Yay!!! You'll own all of his books soon enough. 👏😁 @Kendra.Diane You should join us for the King buddy (re)read. It'll be fun! It's super chill. Jump in if a book suits you. It'll be all his books in publication order, one book a month. It'll start late January/February. I'll post a list and schedule soon. 5y
