Well written, original mystery. But I found myself uneasy with how the autistic MC was portrayed, it was a bit narrow. I wanted to see how autistic ppl viewed it and the below review confirmed my unease. So read for the mystery, with the understanding that this is a limited view of autism. Pick with a caveat.

Not been on Litsy much this week, life!!
Thank you to all the #whodunituk crowd for a great time reading everyone‘s picks. I loved reading all your comments, you were all much better at making notes than I was! Special thank you to @jenniferw88 for spoiling me & my little one again! Chocolate not pictured as it didn‘t last long!
Also thank you to @ScorpioBookDreams for organising. I said I‘d forward this book on to someone, can‘t remember who....
Last #whodunituk completed! I guessed the cause of death but not the criminal. I also liked Patrick, although he did remind me of Anne Hegerty at times!
Thanks @LoveToReadLiveToRead for choosing this book - 3 🌟
About to start the next #whodunituk but thought I'd share the fact that I was 9 minutes more active last week than the week before, thanks to #bfc @wanderinglynn !
I really enjoyed this! A good old fashioned psychological thriller/murder mystery. The main character is autistic and it‘s fascinating to see the world through his eyes as he uncovers these mysteries. #whodunituk
A thriller with a main character with #Aspergers ?
I recently posted about my bugbear with “Magical Disabled People” in books. This could have been so bad, but it wasn‘t.
Either Bauer knows someone with #Autism or has done her research because this was spot on.
I really liked the story and the writing and will read more from this author. Thank you, @Christine11 , for choosing this book for #whodunituk !
My second Belinda Bauer and I really enjoyed it! You‘re right, @trishb she writes vulnerable characters that win your heart; about human conditions, not just a mystery or crime. This one will have you staying up late to devour it..good story, well plotted, and fans of The Curious Incident of the Dog In the Nighttime will enjoy. Some detailed anatomical descriptions may make you squeamish but it‘s not violent.
@Cathythoughts have you read this?
“He shook his mother‘s hand off his arm, and she said sorry to him then. She was sorry about everything, always.”
When your bookmark matches your scarf and your tiny tray bake shimmers in the light.
And yes, I really am that pale.
💜💙
How is it anatomically possible to whistle through your bellybutton?
This is an action shot of my son leaping with excitement recently at an unexpected snow fall.
I know how he feels.
Yesterday I received a total of FOUR BOOKS from @daydreamin_star and @jhod for #mhroundrobin and #WhodunnitUK .

#HappyReading
Next #whodunnituk thanks for the goodies too ❤️
Highly enjoyable and unconventional crime story whose protagonist is a young man with severe Asperger's. Bauer succeeds brilliantly in getting us to empathize with someone who finds empathy hard. I also loved the portrayal of slutty, shallow nurse Tracey. Great fun.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I can't believe I waited until now to read this! Fast paced and SO well written, I devoured this book. Patrick has Asperger's and he's profoundly fascinated by death. Samuel Galen has been in a serious car accident and ends up in the neurological ward at the hospital unable to communicate. The two meet in the most unconventional way and so begins a wild thriller you won't be able to put down! #rubbernecker #belindabauer
Inevitably invites mention/comparison to Haddon‘s book; but this features an older hero, and it‘s more visceral and guignol in parts. Entertaining, fast paced, and every once in a while too convenient plotting-wait, what?-but sucks you in for the twist at the end. Excellent for holiday or train/plane fun read.
@ScorpioBookDreams @Christine11
A little later than I‘d planned but my book and notebook are finally in the post on their way to you Christine! They should make it in time for 1st June.
I meant to take a photo of the parcel before I sent it but forgot! 🤦🏼♀️ it‘s sort of like a Monday today so I‘m blaming that!
#whodunituk
Belinda Bauer has done it again!!!! Wow. What an interesting way to write a murder! I really loved Patrick and Meg!! Didn‘t get the twist for once! But wow. What an enticing read!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I struggled a bit with this book and almost put it down several times but I stayed with it and a little over half way it got better. The main character is Patrick Forte and he has Asperger's Syndrome. Patrick gets the opportunity to enroll in an anatomy class at Cardiff University, for the purpose of finding out why his father died. But Patrick gets sidetracked while working on dissecting a cadaver and things take a turn for Patrick.
Finished Rubbernecker by Belinda Bauer today. Bauer has become one of my favourite authors. I liked this one as well although far from her best. Pretty Raw and gory at times and the characters grew on me as the story went along.
A page-turning mystery. As good as the who-done-it story is the glimpse into the life of the protagonist, a clever medical student who has Asperger's syndrome.
