I had to break my self-imposed book buying ban. I couldn't read Firefly Lane and then not see what happens next! I didn't feel too guilty, it only cost me $5.00 from Better World Books 😁👍

Alfoster “Books” and “ban” should never be in the same sentence!😂😂😂 3w
Djspens @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @autumn24 it's temporary 😁 probably very temporary 3w

This picture is pure fear to me. I hate flying in big jet planes, you'd never EVER catch me in one of these tiny propeller jobs. I'd be white knuckles the whole trip

Cinfhen I have TONS of fears and anxieties but for some reason, flying isn‘t one of them ( Thank God) 🙏🏻because I love to travel 🧳 ✈️but driving......I panic every time!!!!!! 5mo
BarbaraBB I love flying too except for take-off. After that I relax and know I can read undisturbed! 5mo

Ha! Just noticed that @GripLitGrl beat me to it on this one, but it‘s a different cover so why not?!

Cinfhen I read the first book ages ago and remember liking it but don‘t think I‘m up for reading the sequel 5mo
squirrelbrain @Cinfhen - I only realised when I was photographing this that it is a sequel. It came as part of a 3 book set but not with the first book 🤔 5mo
Cinfhen That‘s weird! And there‘s a third book!!! Wow!! 5mo
TrishB Loved the first, this one ok, not read the third and not sure what they‘d do with it. I think this is somewhere on the tbr! 5mo

It was emotionally painful the first part of the book and then it got good and then part of me was like it needs to get better.

My husband doesn‘t like audiobooks so I always wear headphones. It was really nice to be away from my phone but still listen to my audiobook.

JoScho I live in my Bluetooth headphones. I put them on as soon as I wake up. 7mo
Cortg And it‘s nice that the chord won‘t get caught and rip the ear piece from your ear 🤣 7mo
Crazeedi My husband doesn't care for me having my headphones in, he comes in the room and looks at me, says you have those in again?? 7mo
Crazeedi @JoScho I love my bluetooth headphones! 7mo

Another great one by Kristin Hannah. The non- linear story of Kate and Tully and Cloud aka Dorothy. The central story is the loss of a best friend but it goes backwards and forwards in how people became who they are due to super dysfunctional family situations. The strongest writing was the POV of the teenage daughter Mara, who descends into a dark world because she can't deal with her grief.

This sequel was just as wonderful & heart wrenching as the first one. This tragic and beautiful story couldn‘t have ended in a better way. Through the ups and downs of life love remains. I can‘t wait to read what else Kristin Hannah has to say. She is a beautiful and descriptive writer who really knows how to immerse you into the story. You feel so deep and connected to the characters.

Why does every Hannah book make me want to cry? I liked Firefly Lane better but still an excellent book. I liked that it was a continuation of the characters.

A little brain break at work today, on a very slow day. I did read Firefly Lane and just sobbed through it. I'm hoping this isn't as much of a tear jerker.

TrishB Firefly Lane = ugly crying!! 2y
Hollie I sobbed at Firefly Lane, too! 2y

This is the best I could think of for #insects. The book was just okay from what I recall, but the cover of this one, along with many of her others, is beautiful. @RealLifeReading #junebookbugs

Life after a death must be difficult topic for an author, so I'm taking that into account for this review. Solid plot, weak characters and gratuitous adjectives make this a mixed bag. Most characters were unrelatable, but I did read to the end, so there is that.

What a beautiful follow up to Firefly Lane! This book continues the story of the beautiful friendship developed in Firefly Lane. What happens when tragedy strikes, and a family already falling apart, is forced to carry on without the glue that held them all together ?I loved it !! It was an emotional journey to explore the past of some of the characters in FL and understand better the painful choices that were made. BEAUTIFUL ❤️❤️❤️

I picked this book up as a treat for having to endure the mall in December 26. Made the awful trip worth it. It was great to reconnect with the characters, troubled though they were. If you read Firefly Lane, I recommend following up with this one.

Didn't know whether to read this after loving Firefly Lane. I'm glad I did it was good to catch up with the characters, but soooo sad! I'm glad she didn't go with the obvious follow up. If Firefly Lane was a 10 on the crying scale this is probably a 6-7.

I liked the first one better this is the sequel to Firefly Lane. Seriously....just kept getting worse and worse. Very well written, loved her style but not an uplifting sequel.

This one was more of a tearjerker for me than firefly lane. Redemption for many of the characters but so much sadness.

Fun Friday post for @Liberty . I don't typically re-read books but I do have a go to author when I get in reading funks. I always turn to Kristin Hannah. Her books never disappoint.

LiteraryinLititz I've never read anything by her! Which would you recommend as a first one? 3y
Karen3 @LiteraryinLititz Firefly Lane was one of her most popular and a good one. I would start there but honestly you can't go wrong with any of them. I just read The Things We Do For Love a bit ago and it was amazing. 3y

bookishkris @LiteraryinLititz The Magic Hour was my Kristin Hannah gateway book; emotionally compelling, fast paced, some twists and turns. It's the one I recommend to people who want to start reading her stuff. 3y
LiteraryinLititz Wait, what am I saying? I read The Magic Hour (and posted about it a few weeks ago!). Wow, forgot the author's name. Sounds like I have to try Firefly Lane next! 3y
KellyKate I haven't read anything by her in years because the most boring book I have ever read in my life was On Mystic Lake- couldn't even finish it. To this day it's the one book I have stopped reading, and put aside. I've heard Firefly Lane was very good, and after your plug I will give her another try. 3y
Karen3 @KellyKate I hope you enjoy it. It was the first of hers that I read. 3y
Wendirella I have only read The Nightingale but I loved it. I have had The Winter Garden on my shelf for about a year. Guess I should get to reading it! 3y
