Little Free Library find last night while walking Penny the dog. I already have copies of all but the tagged and might re-home two because I have those same editions even. But I couldn‘t resist grabbing them all. 😆

David Tennant is my favorite Doctor & one of my favorite actors, so I jumped at the chance to listen to him narrate. And who doesn't love James Bond?
Me. I don't love James Bond. Not as books - I enjoy the films as much as the next person. The books are dated & problematic in places, but that's understandable. IMO, the action scenes translate so much better to film, even with such a great narrator.

1.I absolutely love Moonraker, and the absolutely delightful undercover MI5 agent, Gala Brand.Drax is a spectacular villain,Bond is as inept as ever and still charming!
2.Fleming was a huge discovery for me.Ive always been dismissive of James Bond books, that's very unfair- they're great.
3.Yes!Signed up to Netgalley and now I'm drowning in ARCs!I discovered some excellent books from there, can't complain!
Have a good week!
When you are quietly reading in 2021 and you nearly spill your tea laughing out loud...
I just love those covers for the bond books, and after this one I will be almost finished with 007

That's me on my couch in my favourite reading position! The other photos are of #chill times pre-Covid:the best bookshop(arguably)still functioning in India, the excellent museum in Bombay,a retrospective of SH Raza's works, birthday dinner at a blues cafe,a concert at NCPA.India is still not safe enough,covid-wise,to resume any of these for the near future, apart from ultimately my favorite thing-read on my couch!
Audiobooks are my go to when I don't feel well. Just finished the 11th Bond book. Possibly the best one too. #audible #audiobook
Isn‘t this a violently ugly edition? 😂
My IRL book club is reading the tagged 1963 James Bond novel as a bit of a diversion after some heavier reads (one of our members whose choice it was had recently read an interesting article about Ian Fleming).
I‘m several chapters in and totally enjoying the swinging Sixties, Austin Powers vibe. 😆
Loved this reading and this series of audiobooks.
While he's come to be associated almost solely with martinis (shaken, not stirred, of course), in the original books Bond had a penchant for #whisky.

Sooo... Kobo's selection for this audio book sample is... uhhh... 😳...

Went to see George Lazenby's story in Becoming Bond. I saw him speak before a screening of On Her Majesty's Secret Service a couple of years ago and the man is a natural storyteller, completely mesmerising. No dull moments, plenty of laughs, some surprising star power in parts (it's part interview with Lazenby and part recreation with actors) - now to rewatch the film (I remember some spectacular skiing sequences)
