Just finished this one. I loved this duology and I giggled at this joke. I‘m a sucker for bad jokes. #daughterofthepirateking #daughterofthesirenqueen #library #hardcover #pirates #quotes #badjokes

- Quick and easy reads
- Badass female characters
- Witty banter
- Okay worldbuilding and twists
- So many names, so little descriptions
Overall an enjoyable duology!
"I will concede that I do feel more alive when I think I'm about to die," he says.
"You're not going to die," I tell him.
Thoroughly enjoyed this book, as much as I did the first one. Brilliant narration and I was so invested. Such a pleasant surprise when I‘d not really seen any hype around these yet they‘ve been a favorite so far this year. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finished this re-read on kindle unlimited both the first and second book was free a great to re-associate myself with this author 🤨📖🤗
I liked the final part in the duology and enjoyed the fast-paced adventures with the crew of the Ava-lee yet again! I liked how the characters (both main and side) developed throughout the story and love the cute banter between Alosa and Riden. Of course, the conclusion of the book was great and I highly recommend the series to anyone who likes pirates and amazing female characters! ⭐️⭐️⭐️
“It's time to set up the reign of the pirate queen.“
A woman is not helpless when she knows what to do.
“I expect to see you all again soon.”
“Whether in this life or the next.”
“How did we turn out the way we did when such horrible men raised us?” I wonder aloud.
“Because we are not our fathers. We saw what evil looked like, and we knew we wanted to be different.”
I may not have been born in the sea, but I was born to rule it.
I am the daughter of the siren queen.
“I will concede that I do feel more alive when I think I‘m about to die.”
“You weren‘t joking when you spoke of how much danger your crew gets into.”
“We like to keep things interesting.”
“And fatal.”
This was pretty good.
Not going to lie - I am older than the intended demographic for this but I wanted more pirating!
Overall it was fun and wrapped up the story arc nicely as well as answered some questions from the first book but I do think it's a shame the the last 3 chapters captivated me more than the entirety of the book.
I would read 50 more of these if she wrote them. So easy and fun to get through, hilarious writing and a great plot. I do love the ending though so I guess I‘m okay with it only being 2 books
This is the April #bookspinbingo wrap post. Loved the DotPK and DotSK series. So fun. Recommend for pirate goodness, but super light on character description. No bingo again, but May is already here!
Oh this is a fantastic book, very enjoyable. The action is incredible and has a very sweet love story. It's a quick read and it will be worth your time.
Halfway through Book 2 and really enjoying it, might finish it in one go now!!!
Wow. Just wow. This book, like the first, is such an easy read. I‘d say it‘s better than the first honestly. It‘s was very easy to pick up and get lost in the adventure (it‘s currently 1 am as I‘m finishing the book). It‘s action packed until the end and I think the author does a good job of wrapping everything up and possibly leaving room for another book.
I loved the first book in this series and the sequel is just as satisfying. Girl pirates kicking ass.. I like the fun adventures and the Jack Sparrow vibes. I am curious if her other books will live up to this series. If you are looking for a fun easy read, look no further.
The sequel to "Daughter of a Pirate King" was honestly better than the first. I really enjoyed the first, but Alosa and her crew have new adventures sailing the sea in the sequel. I was captivated by the strong female pirate crew and am happy to have read the book! If you like to read about strong females, and enjoy piracy, this YA adventure novel is for you!
I wish I could give it more stars. This is the perfect ending to this story. There was adventure at every turn!!!!! Riden and Alosa are at the forefront. Their relationship for me is what pushed me to continue. It was a roller coaster. It was great watching Alosa command her band of pirates and to become the woman she is supposed to be. I laughed and was at the edge of my seat. I was both petrified and excited the entire time.
A GREAT read (dare I say, better than the first book). Action packed as any pirate adventure book should be with just enough gore to make you cringe once or twice. You fall in love with each of the main cast as they are introduced to the reader throughout the book. The push-pull romance is maddening at times and is beautifully written. Very well done!
Just finished this book today, and it is just as good as the first one! Alosa is such a good female lead, the storyline is so good, continuing from the first book, Daughter of the Pirate King I loved this duology, definitely reccomend and as much as I couldnt wait to finish it, now I'm a bit empty 😂📚

Book 2 in the duology focuses on Alosa's Siren half. Learning more about her past and her powers and how they're all linked together. There was more action than romance in this book, as evidenced by a pretty bloody first line. Lots of badass women in both books. All in all, the series was a fun swashbuckling tale, and once again makes me wish I knew how to sword fight. Anne Bonny would be proud.
No man can resist the Siren's #spell
Ok....so it doesn't fit into the theme for #teamslaughter but it was a quick and fun listen while I was at work and kind of fits today's prompt so.... 🤷♀️
Also...pirates are creepy and there WAS a whole lot of stabbing going on 😂 ☠☠☠

Pirates, treasure hunting, skirmishes, open ocean sailing, sirens...what‘s not to please?! Quick read & good conclusion of the series. A fun comfort read this weekend. Feeling a little better but not looking forward to Monday 👎
Woke up with a sore throat and the beginnings of a cold 👎. Even though I‘m in the middle of like 💯 other books right now, this book was calling to me. So I‘m gonna let sassy Alosa give me some comfort as I lather up EOs and vitamin packets. Big thanks to my bestie for buying this for a buddy read @kellyann28
A fun adventure story on the high seas. Great follow up to Daughter of the Pirate King.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Stayed up tonight finishing this book with this little guy. It was a great sequel, and I really enjoyed the ending. Overall a quick and easy read with a sweet love story and fun characters.

An adventurous duology with a fiesty and resourceful heroine. I enjoyed the first book over this second.
So I'm wearing sweatpants in July because I got the worst sunburn of my life at the music festival yesterday. I put on sunscreen before we left and like once every hour while we were there, but it was 100 and in direct sun for 10 hours, so apparently the sunscreen was no match.
I can barely walk or lift my arms, so I perched myself within arms reach of bookshelves& coffee, &this is where I'll be for the next 2 days. 😅
P.s. who can spot Winston?
I revised my caption from earlier today. I didn't realize how bitter I had sounded about teaching today, but to be fair my classroom had been ripped apart by another teacher when I got there, and I was still moving furniture when the kids arrived. I also got cussed out by a kid 2x today, so I was feeling pretty done at that point. 😅
Anyway, I'm reading before bed and hoping that tomorrow is a better day. Good night, littens! 🌛
I'm about 6 chapters into this book and feeling pretty meh so far. The plot feels recycled from the first book. 🤷🏻♀️
I am seriously hoping there are more books coming in this series! Pirates, sirens, the ocean, so many wonderful things in one book! Just as fun and exciting as the first book.
I loved it, possibly more than the first!
9/10 💫

Riden sure wasn‘t going to get fooled by Alosa anymore, not after the first book‘s shenanigans.
Whoa. I LOVE where this second instalment took this story. Like, in every way possible. In this book, we get to dive deeper into Alosa‘s siren heritage, her family life, and her relations with her crew. We also get an epic treasure hunt and sea battles and awesomeness of epic proportions. Fantastic conclusion to the duology.
Read these before giving them as gifts (the person knows), and enjoyed them both! I like that Siren Queen let's us see people/places only referenced in the first, lots of action. The romance was more of a slow burn than I expected but I like that they had to work through the shifted power dynamic from Pirate King and sort out attraction as a means to an end vs genuine affection. Also, cool cover treatments with gloss and texture! 😁
You know the library loves you when they make a flap so you can see the map❤️ can I please have a Riden? I love him and Alosa! I typically don't like second books but this one was fantastic! Only took me about 4 hours to read!
