This is a biography about Martin Luther and his I have a Dream speech. He was an African American public speaker who spoke about a better future for his people. He talked about how one day they would get treated as real people instead of overlooked. He lead many group riot walks through the streets to make his presence known and know that he was not going to stop until his people were heard. He knew everyone was different and that made us unique.

Being from MetroDetroit, Michigan, #MittenLitten, it‘s cool to know that MLK first said his speech in Detroit before saying it in Washington DC.

What a masterpiece 📖
This nonfiction picture book describes the events that happened back on August 23, 1963, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial during the march on Washington and the speech that shook our nation forever. Kadir Nelson is the illustrator who takes students on a journey once reading this book.

Another book I use at school with students. King worked 2 summers in the tobacco fields in Simsbury CT where I live. Story of this discovery by HS students in link. I plan to participate in the “drive by” the memorial.

This book is a fantastic DR or RA book on what MLK believed in. It is a great book to teach young students about Civil rights and can be used in a History Lesson as well. Love using picture books to bring history to life for kids.

Another amazing speech in history brought to the level of children through the media of picture books. I think something explained with pictures is much easier to grasp and I enjoyed this display of the speech.

The illustrations in this book were very realistic looking. They also went along with the text of each page and the part of the speech that was being read.

This book was so interesting to me! It was Martin Luther King Jr.'s “I Have A Dream“ speech written into a children's book. This was a different way to read about this iconic speech, and I enjoyed it.

I loved this book, it is Martin Luther King Jr's “I Have A Dream“ speech. He is a very important person in history and his speech is also an important part of history as well during the Civil Rights movement. He fought for equality and human rights for African Americans, the economically disadvantages and all victims of injustice through peaceful protest.

A teacher can S to make it easier to relate for all students. I bought this book for my son a few years back and I was really grateful that it came with the recordings of his speech. He has yet to hear the whole thing but one day soon, he will and we'll discuss what his words meant then and now.

We have to remember that he was more than this one speech. That he was a complex man with a message who was taken before his time.
