Cameron Boxer is very happy to spend his life avoiding homework, hanging out with his friends, and gaming for hours in his basement. It's not too hard for him to get away with it . . . until he gets so caught up in one game that he almost lets his house burn down around him. Oops. It's time for some serious damage control--so Cameron and his friends invent a fake school club that will make it seem like they're doing good deeds instead of slacking off. The problem? Some kids think the club is real--and Cameron is stuck being president. Soon Cameron is part of a mission to save a beaver named Elvis from certain extinction. Along the way, he makes some new friends--and some powerful new enemies. The guy who never cared about anything is now at the center of everything . . . and it's going to take all his slacker skills to win this round.

Video games may be Cameron's whole life, but when there's a fire in his house because of his own negligence, he's got to convince his parents he's active in school. By setting up a pretend civic club that takes on a life of its own, he realizes that there are bigger things out there. A fun MG book and my first Korman. 😁

I also got a second list going for #BookSpin! Overambitious? Possibly, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions! 😈
This is a list of middle grade books I've been collecting and maybe stealing from my kids. I run the Scholastic bok fairs for our school so naturally I've been making unnecessary purchases over the last 7 years!!! 😂

Light humor. Good message. Frequent pov changes. Very simplistic. I prefer his Masterminds books.

I don‘t know what my problem is today, but I just can‘t seem to get into reading! Tomorrow I‘ll probably be all over books, when it doesn‘t “count” any more. Maybe it‘s this crazy bright full moon tonight? Or maybe I just need to embrace the slacker-ness and see what happens? I don‘t know.

Samplergal I haven‘t had the mojo today either. I did finish one book but haven‘t had the attention span tonight. Meh. 6y

CouronneDhiver I‘m way off my game today too... whatevs. Crap happens 6y

TheBookgeekFrau All of 2018 has been this way for me. Close to 11 hrs of reading used to be a typical Saturday for me. Only got there today because of the read-a-thon push. And now that I finished a book, I‘m thinking I‘m done even tho there‘s still 9 hours to go. So unlike me😕 6y
LeahBergen Embrace that slackerness. 👍🏻 6y
merelybookish Enjoy the moon! 🌕 6y
Kaye Howl at the moon 🌝 while you‘re slacking. Just a reading slump. It‘ll pass. Maybe it‘s the pressure to read as much as possible. Just kick back and try a book, if it doesn‘t click, toss it and look for another. No page count, no hours counted. Just read 6y
Mollyanna Sometimes you just have to go with your mood and not force it. You read at least one page, you connected with other readers. Savor that. 6y
emilyhaldi Ugh, that was my problem today too but I can attribute it to my hangover 🍹🤦🏻‍♀️ 6y
Daisey Same here! I felt like reading this morning, but then other things got in the way. I finished an audiobook this afternoon but have no desire to start another. I just want to keep thinking about the one I finished today. 6y
Readerann Hello pal. I had a family issue come up today so I kind of lost my mojo as well. Hopefully, October will be better! I love your facial expression - that says it all! ❤️ 6y

I've been such a slacker and forgot to do this again. I tried to once and something went wrong. Okay
1. Be more productive
2. It was "The Deal of a Lifetime" by Backman
3. More challenges and participating on litsy
4. The blanket and book swap is the only one so far
5. Tea and my pup

Hooray! Happy New Year
@Wbabdullah

Wbabdullah I feel so special that you did this not only once, but twice!! Thanks for sharing your bookish New Years resolutions with me! 😍 6y

I had to check this book out after all the book fair ads about it. It was a humorous & even inspiring read that quickly pulled me in. After his slacker ways get him in trouble, Cameron Boxer is forced to join a club or his parents will ban him from gaming. To get out of doing any work, he creates a fake club called the Positive Action Group. But when others believe the club is real and want to join, Cam ends up doing more than he thought possible.

I sat down today to figure out where I am on my challenges. I'm so behind (except for my Goodreads goal). 😳 I know you can't read the list but I think I have most of my reading planned for the rest of the year. #oops #there isstilltime

Another great Gordon Korman book about how trying to be lazy can just get you into more work, and that even the biggest slacker can make a difference.

I love this author and think he's on target with how he writes his child characters. Cute story of how PAG, a club designed to do nothing, becomes a big thing. Much to Cameron's dismay. I would recommend this for an elementary and middle school library. I would suggest it for your gamers and Diary of a Wimpy Kid lovers!
