I seem to be in the minority amongst #PemberLittens in that I 💜 Emma (the book, Emma herself can be maddening 😆)

Emma is considered revolutionary for the time, in form and technique, in the way that it bends the narration through the distorted perspective of Emma‘s mind.

From my introduction, “Austen imbues a 3rd person narrative with the habits of thought or expression of a fictional character.” She was the first author to do so!

The #150PnPCoverParty photo challenge has put me in the mood for some new Austen-related-something in my life, so it felt like the perfect time to pick up this memoir written by her nephew.

Fun fact: a one-horse-drawn carriage was no way to transport a lady around, because it would be to uncomfortable for her fragile body #carriages

Austen‘s nephew wrote this short biography of his “dear aunt Jane”.
