I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it. Some will be old, some will be new - don't judge me, I have a lot of books.

Day 111th

Join the fun if you want!

#2 The Demonata Lord Loss was about a boy named Grubbs and his parents and sister were brutally murdered by one demon lord and his two apprentices. Grubbs was left with his uncle Dervish who is willing to help Grubbs get revenge for his parents and sister but Grubbs doesn‘t know the history of his family and what curse they have so Grubbs will need to deal with his curse and finding the demons at the same time.

Kaden_Pavelka06 If you like books that are gory and keep you reading you should give Lord Loss a try. The book doesn‘t really start to get good until the 100th page in my opinion 4y
MissYaremcio Great review Kaden! I am impressed! Keep up the good work! 4y

Lord loss is about a boy named Grubbs and he has just discovered that his family has been brutally murdered by demons but the cops don‘t believe him so they sent him to a mental hospital to get the answers out of him but he wouldn‘t budge so he was stuck in the mental hospital on a tight schedule for a while will the cops believe him or will he make everything up... If you like books that are gory you will love this book

MissYaremcio Great review Kaden! Make sure that you include proper punctuation next time - and the tone!! 5y

Read the series in high school and rereading it now again. The book still gripped me like it did when I was a teenager. Finished in less then a day, which is becoming harder for my adhd brain.

I‘ve read the book a couple years ago and re-read it now. What an awesome start into the demonata series. I remember why I liked Darren Shan so much. I can totally recommend it for people that like the genre. It‘s a bit grizzly at times but that‘s what I enjoy so much about him. #lordloss #grubbs #dervish #thedemonata

13 years on...

"I think of you often and make no outward show,

But what it means to lose you, no one will ever know

You wished no one farewell, not even said good-bye,

You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why.

You are not forgotten nor will you ever be,

As long as life and memories last, I will remember thee...

kamoorephoto To some you may be forgotten, to others a part of the past,

But to me who loved you dearly, your memories will always last.

Nothing can be more beautiful than the memories I have of you.

To me, you were someone special, God must have thought so too!

If tears could build a staircase and memories a lane,

I would walk all the way to Heaven, and bring you back again."

InBooksILive 😔 sorry for your loss. It never gets easier to live without someone who's passed on, you just kind of learn to live with the pain. 6y

Do you ever count how many pages you have left in a chapter, and once you get to the last page of your chapter, you can't help but look? WHY. WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF?!?!? OH WHAT A CRUEL WORLD.

"Peace, hombre. I come to greet you, not to eat you--- as a cannibal said to missionary."

This line in this book made me laugh.

Day 10 & 11: #bestnarrator and #disastrouskids if I'm being honest, Kvothe works for both of these things, as he's gotten himself into a few binds. But I like Grubbs. #octphotochallenge @LibrarianRyan

[Old photo] Yes, this is YA but that doesn't mean it's not scary. If you want a deep horror YA fantasy, go get a Darren Shan book.

Another one I'd suggest is the Monstrumologist series by Rick Yancey. (I don't have the book with me right now.) Such a gore and horrifying read. I've only read the first book and decided to put it on hold until I'm ready for the next episode of nightmares.

[DELETED] 1409720085 YA horror is my jam. ❤️ 8y
pppooraikul @emilydecato Same for me 😁 Though I prefer the horror to be fantasy, not realistic-horror, or else I won't be able to sleep or think clearly! 8y

Darren Shan is the master of YA horror-fantasy novels. His works go deeper than the books of this genre usually go. If you want gore and thrilling scenes that would haunt you in your dreams, this book can give you. If you want the coming-of-age feels, this one has it too.

oliviaarmes I loved Darren Shan when I was a tween! 8y
pppooraikul @oliviaarmes Absolutely! He grasped what teens actually wanted in a book. ❤️ 8y
oliviaarmes @pppooraikul totally! Aw this made me feel really nostalgic 😊 8y
pppooraikul @oliviaarmes I guess you've read the Saga of Darren Shan, right? 😁 Have you heard he also wrote Mr.Crepsley's story as companion books? It's brilliant! 🤓 8y
oliviaarmes @pppooraikul hehe you guess right. I'll have to have a look the Mr Crepsley books and take a little trip down Memory Lane 😺 8y
