I have become obsessed with Frida Kahlo over the past year and have been slowly working my way through my library‘s collection. This book is 150 pages of letters Frida wrote to various people between 1924 and 1953. She and Diego Rivera were truly one of a kind. Her pain as well as her passion comes out in each page. @kaye lots of books written about Frida. I think the one by Herrera is considered one of the more definitive biographies.

bates_barb @arlenefinnigan @McShelfington True, plus I'm pretty sure that the "half-drunk gel photographing after returning to the lab from someone's thesis or prelim defense party" skills I honed so rigorously in grad school have probably deserted me by now. ? Caffeine it is, I guess. 7y

I have adored this Lady since the day I had to write a paper on her life. I was amazed by every aspect of her personnality! She's the true example of a brave woman who won't be defeated nor taken for granted. She loved and was broken, devastated and yet she left a remarquable legacy that made her simply eternal!

vivastory Murakami, Danny Trejo AND Frida Kahlo? I'd pay serious money to attend THAT dinner! I have not had dinner with Sherman Alexie, but I did see him read in 2011 & he was great. Every bit as charming as you'd imagine. 7y
