Snow In April
Snow In April | Rosamunde Pilcher
9 posts | 10 read | 3 to read
In Snow in April, Caroline travels to Scotland, hoping to make contact with a brother she hasn't seen for years, and return in time for her wedding to the man her strong-willed stepmother thought so suitable. Then a sudden snow strands her in an isolated house with a young man recovering from tragedy. Both are on the brink of terrible mistakes, but perhaps they can save each other. When you read a novel by Rosamunde Pilcher you enter a special world where emotions sing from the heart. A world that lovingly captures the ties that bind us to one another-the joys and sorrows, heartbreaks and misunderstandings, and glad, perfect moments when we are in true harmony. A world filled with evocative, engrossing, and above all, enjoyable portraits of people's lives and loves, tenderly laid open for us...

Pickpick

I've read September & Winter Solstice. Literally there is a #rosamundepilcherforeveryseason
Earlier works. Her skill at setting a scene is there from the opening line. Character & storywise Rosamunde Pilcher definitely improved with age. But I could see myself revisiting this story one day just for the Scotland descriptions. At 5hrs long, I finished it yesterday while working in the garden.

Crinoline_Laphroaig This Summer I'm planning on reading The Shell Seekers. Most people consider it her best work yet I've never read it. I will probably swap between Kindle and Audio. At 19h 26m/530pages it will be just the thing to escape the summer heat 3y
CBee @Crinoline_Laphroaig I bought The Shell Seekers about a year or so ago and still haven‘t read it. It was a favorite of my grandmother‘s and I hope to read it soon! 3y
MaureenMc The Shell Seekers is excellent! 😊 3y

Crinoline_Laphroaig @CBee I'll try and remember to tag you when I'm going to read. 3y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @CaramelLunacy I love the term #agasaga that I've seen in relation to her work. 3y
Crinoline_Laphroaig @MaureenMc I have high hopes! Everyone seems to love it. 3y
CBee @Crinoline_Laphroaig that would be great! Thank you! 3y

2. Romance
3. Sitting on a beach reading
4. Gray siding, orange brick, orange siding.
5. When answering this question I pick from my top ten: The English Patient.

Mehso-so

Well....this is an old-fashioned romance. It is harlequin minus the cruel male. The heroine is sweet but a bit dim. The man solves everything. Fortunately, it was set in Scotland or it would be a total loss.

Day 4 of #novemberbythenumbers I found this 4 book box set in a used bookstore in Muncie last year. I haven‘t read them yet, but I hope to get to them soon.

robinb Pilcher is one of my very favorite authors! I think I own most all of her books. If you have a chance and haven‘t read it, read this one...it‘s my fave. (edited) 6y
CocoReads @robinb I‘m pretty sure I read The She‘ll Seekers way back in the day but remember almost nothing about it. I picked up a copy of that as well on the same trip. 6y
robinb @CocoReads I‘ve been meaning to do a re-read of it (Shell Seekers) as it‘s been many years since I‘ve read it. I‘m anxious to see if it‘s as wonderful as I remember it being. 😊 6y

April is ending on a high note, thanks to the #springCleaningReadathon! I finished 3 in progress reads and started and finished another from the TBR!

I also finished all but one of my planned April TBRs. Mike Nesmith's new book will be on May's list.

As for the #Goodreads challenge, I'm at 50/60. I underestimated a bit. I could hit 150 books this year! 😳
