“Yeah, I guess.… So are you going this weekend? To the beach?” While she spoke, she flashed a dark look toward Edythe, who was standing against the cluttered counter, motionless as a #sculpture, staring off into space. #QuotsyAug20 #sculpt

McKayla caught up to us as we walked in the doors, laughing, her usually sleek hair turning #frizzy from the wet. She and Jeremy were talking animatedly about the snow fight as we got in line to buy food. #QuotsyAug20 #frizz

My time with the Twilight series was a really fun time in my life, I really loved the books and was volunteering with a youth group, so we did the midnight showings and other events. I get the backlash about sparkly vampires and how the whole obsession is problematic. But it was good for me. Now this book is not the worst thing I've read, I just take it as a short trip back to forks for the fans. Not as satisfying, but for a fan not too bad.

Have been listening to this audiobook while cleaning and puzzling lately and forget how excited I was when it first came out

I came across a photo I took of myself after my senior cotillion (like the southern lady I am) and I couldn't help sharing. I thought I looked like Belle, and this was my attempt at being super casual about this fact. Enjoy my awkward high school self, complete with super serious Twilight reading face (and messy room). 2009 me was an interesting time.

Nebklvr You DO kind of look like Belle! 7y
arlenefinnigan At first glance I thought you were a child bride 😉 7y
ReadingRover This is a pretty fantastic photo! I was wondering what you were dressed so fancy for. You totally got the serious reading face down pat! 7y

I received this for Christmas in 2015 and put off reading this for some reason, but I finally decided to dive in last week. This is a retelling of Twilight but all of the roles are gender swapped - Beau Swan is the human and Edythe Cullen is the vampire. When I first started it, it was hard to get into because I kept picturing Edward and Bella, but once it got going I really enjoyed it. Edythe especially was a very fascinating character. #twilight

JenlovesJT47 Beau was okay as a character, but I found Edythe and the gender swapped Cullens quite fascinating. There is also a surprise twist ending (very awesome btw!) so it does have its differences from the original story. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Recommended for fans of Twilight to read with an open mind. 7y
[DELETED] 206653737 I got this for that Christmas too and pretty much read it right away. I really enjoyed the retelling! I saw that end coming but enjoyed it as well, made sense for the reversal. 7y
JenlovesJT47 @bookish22 I agree about the ending. It made sense since she wasn't retelling the whole series. It was a nice what if scenario from the original story. I really liked Edythe, she was such an interesting character! 7y

Don't do it. Seriously. You'll thank me later. I was/am a Twihard and this was just awful for me. I don't know that I've ever been so let down. Perhaps my expectations were too high. This felt like a patronizing attempt to apologize for not writing Midnight Sun. The gender swap was done clumsily and actually made me dislike the characters.

Homemade toast and a cheesy gender swapped vampire romance. In bed. (Hashtag Saturday hashtag snow day)

This amazing love story is a twist into the twilight zone and it pulls you into wanting to read more no matter how big it is.

Having been an off and on fan of the original twilight books (I'm still disappointed in myself) I was really expecting to like this one and let the inner pre-teen me run wild for a night and read the whole thing...It wasn't all that great. It was just tough to get into and it made me miss Edward and Bella. The genderswapped characters just weren't convincing as real characters...I would have preferred Midnight Sun...3/10...#sorry

I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I had higher expectations than I should have because I was so excited when I found it but I couldn't finish it. I found it boring.

A list of thirty protagonists you want to throttle. Before I even opened this up I knew who number one would be. Can't say I agree with all of them though.

Will always be royal for teenagers. Life and death is a special edition, but all the characters' genders are switched. It s pretty cool so you should try reading it if you havn't yet

According to the book jacket, the author has crafted a "bold and compelling reimagining of the iconic love story that will inspire and enthrall readers". And then the author apologizes in the foreword... What are your thoughts?

The gender swapped version of Twilight with an alternate ending? It was okay-can't say the conclusion resonated with me. But for Twihards, worth a read.
