Pickpick

An absolute guilty pleasure read that I loved when it first came out. Rereading it on the beach was both addictive & made me roll my eyes. Obviously the relationships are toxic, but it‘s also incredibly entertaining. It‘s like eating a giant tub of ice cream, not great for you, but it taste good in the moment. Don‘t base your relationship goals off this book, but it‘s perfect teenage yearning vampire drama. I‘m off to read the rest of the series.

Octoberwoman My mom gave me a copy and years later I finally read it and was pleasantly surprised that it was better than I expected 3h

Sometimes doom scrolling Facebook produces some interesting facts lol. Utqiaġvik, Alaska will be in a state of twilight and darkness until the end of January. I don‘t think I could ever get used to that!

Eggs Seasonal affective disorder anyone? 😟 3d
Tamra My husband and I grew up there. 😁 The 24 hours of light was more difficult to adjust to than the dark. 3d
KT1432 Omg wow! @Tamra how long does the daylight last? Two months also? Yeah I couldn‘t deal with that either lol I have to have darkness to sleep! 😴 2d

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I‘m the weird one who likes the dark 🖤😂 2d
Tamra @KT1432 it‘s the same- for good and bad. 😄 Softball games at midnight and tinfoil on bedroom windows in the “summer.” 2d
TieDyeDude Yeah, it's not as bad in Soldotna, but my first year here was really rough. We have about 6 hours of daylight in December (10a-4p). Now, after a summer of 24-hour daylight/twilight, I'm read for some darkness in winter 😋 1d

CivilWarLand in Bad Decline | George Saunders

I just posted about*not* seeing Florence & the Machines, however I was extremely fortunate to attend a reading of Saunders the week he won the Booker for Lincoln etc. Saunders is the modern age Vonnegut, chronicling our #twilight with the attendant absurdity and humor it deserves. The tagged book, aside from featuring one of the more humorous and topical, titles in years is a good starting place & showcase of his absurdities/wonders.

Eggs Excellent 👌🏼 3w
Centique I loved Lincoln in the Bardo and I have a couple of other books of his staring at me! Gotta get there 😜 3w

My teen has been talking to me about Nietzsche, so I'm dusting off my Twilight of the Idols and The Anti-Christ from college. I made notes in it, so I know I read it, but I remember nothing from this book except that it wasn't what I'd expected when I was 19 years old.

@Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

Eggs I‘ve not read a whole Nietzsche book yet, just excerpts… 3w

#Twilight was never my thing, but my friends Claire and Amanda love discussing on the podcast Fictional Hangover. Recently they did Halloween Special dressed in character.
