Lands End | Jackie D

In the blink of an eye, Lena Michaels's dreams of college became a distant memory. A robbery gone wrong in her family s locally owned restaurant took the life of her parents. The only witness to the gruesome tragedy was Laura, Lena s nine-year-old sister. Seven years later, the murders remain unsolved and Laura is now a rebellious teenager, dead set on pushing her sister s limits. Amy Kline is a public relations hotshot for the San Francisco Miners football team. Her only focus is keeping her publicity prone clients out of hot water. When Laura s rebellious streak puts her in the sites of the Miners star wide receiver, Lena and Amy will have to face off to protect what is important to them. What neither is prepared for is that the price could be their hearts."

Today we have finally reached Lands End. #VirtualTour

How has Saturday been? Very grey here today, that alongside with all the negativity around in relation to Wave 2 of Covid has left me feeling low. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Perfect daly to high away with the many readathons I am taking part in to score points for #Scarathlon2020

#DailyCheckIn

TheBookHippie Yard work here today leaves leaves and more leaves 🙃 ignoring the world ...our numbers climbing rapid rate 😬🤯 (edited) 4y
Lynnsoprano Took our grandson to the pumpkin patch at a local church, which was great fun. Finished one book, started another, football on tv, a relaxing day. 4y

TrishB Add a certain footie match and I‘m very low. 4y
Clwojick So far today has been a great day. I slept in late since I'm trying to prep my sleep schedule for my week of overnight shifts starting on monday. I got in quite a few hours of reading before I fell asleep, and just started on my third book of the day. My friend is coming over for a Popcorn Party, and then its more iZombie and reading for me! 4y
Andrew65 @TrishB That VAR! I think the mood is so low generally so easy for things to make us low. On a positive note at least they didn‘t lose. I get the impression they have lost some of their advantage and edge for lack of crowds! (edited) 4y
Andrew65 @TheBookHippie Locally our rates are 316 cases per 100,000 in the latest week. 😢 I need to find a way to ignore the world, struggling with that recently. 4y
Andrew65 @Lynnsoprano Sounds good. 4y
Andrew65 @Clwojick I didn‘t mean to sleep in late but shows how tired I am, given the time I slept to! Enjoy the popcorn party. Getting plenty of reading in, finished 3 books, soon 4 today. 4y
TheBookHippie @Andrew65 same... we are at 40 per 1000 ... I try to not think too much which I don‘t accomplish 😭 4y
Velvetfur Lovely pics, I hadn't actually seen Land's End before! As for the news, I don't watch any, I just get the gist of what's going on via social media - it's too frightening. I'm always telling my Mum to stop watching so much news as it worries her so much, but she's an old-fashioned 78-year-old who can't really grasp online things so can't get news from any other source. Hugs to you anyway xxx 4y
CocoReads Great pics! Just dove out to the library to pick up my first grab and go order! A great idea and out of the 10 books they picked for me, I‘ve only read 3 of them. 4y
TheSpineView Perfect weather today. A crisp fall morning that warmed up nicely. Low humidity and clear blue skies. It made for a great day riding! Life does get much better! 💙🏇 4y
TrishB It‘s the Pickford and Richarlison tackles. Virge out for probably rest of session and Thiago for up to 3 months. ☹️☹️ just a bad day. 4y
Andrew65 @TrishB That will make things very difficult! 😔 4y
kezzlou85 Mixed weather day here. I'm in Norfolk so currently our covid numbers are low here but I keep wondering how long for. Been reading and watching today. 4y
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 Fancy a new neighbour? In the north of England seems to have steadily moved across from West to East of England. 4y
kezzlou85 @Andrew65 Oh yes. If only it was that easy. They reckon its cos we're a rural area that the numbers have stayed low. I can't see us escaping it much longer. 4y
Andrew65 @kezzlou85 Rural definitely helps. Hope you manage to escape high levels. We‘re currently in Tier 2 but feel heading rapidly to Tier 3. 4y
JanuarieTimewalker13 This is so cool!! I think there may be a sign in Montauk on Long Island with a similar sentiment!! 4y
CBee Hi all 👋🏻 Awesome weather today but sometimes hard to enjoy - election looming and COVID not improving - TOO much to think over and worry about!! 😳🤔🙁 4y
tracey38 Had a fairly relaxing day but it went by quickly. Our numbers are on the rise here, too, and it's very scary. Especially when I work in healthcare and have to be out there every day during the week and then come home and take care of my mom while she's recovering from major heart surgery. So I have been ordering books as a coping mechanism. 📚 Chilly weekend but temps warming again next week. Gonna get some more reading in before bed. 4y
kezzlou85 @Andrew65 yeah it really does. Thanks. I hope you stay out of tier 3. 4y

Pickpick

Lands End was a sweet stoey from beginning to end and it did give me a few good laughs. The pacing of the story was just right. A book I would definitely recommend to others. #lesbianromance
