Found this book at my local sex-positive lending library and I am friggin stoked. This is an amazing resource for anyone who wants to learn more about their bodies, sexuality, and/or sex toys.

Overall I think the HBO adaptation did a really excellent job with My Brilliant Friend! I especially think they did a great job at showing just how young Elena and Lila are even though they're dealing with such adult themes as marriage and sex and poverty. Looking forward to the other books/seasons.

Reading this so I can watch the new show on HBO! Not loving it as much as I loved Days of Abandonment but I'm only halfway through and I do so love how Ferrante delves into the inner lives of girls and women and throws toxic masculinity into a harsh light.

I used to think I didn't like romance novels until one day I had an epiphany: I'd actually been reading romance my whole life, but I didn't consider it that way because mine always had vampires or werewolves or magic. Even if I hadn't realized that though, this cover would have probably relieved me of my illusions 😋😍.

lalatiburona I don't know if you NEED to, but it does talk a lot about Palestinian identity and how self-hatred gets internalized when the majority devalues minorities. It's one of the first fiction books about that conflict that I've read though so that's always good. 9mo

I have NEVER loved a series so much. This story held strong from the beginning of book one through the end of this nigh on 1,000 page finale... A fantasy series who finally FINALLY had women as the primary heroes, women as the drivers of the story and the catalysts of change, women who literally save the world... I will come back to this series again and again for as long as I live. ❤️❤️❤️

There There: A novel | Tommy Orange
post image

Oh man, this book killed me dead. This is the kind of literature we should be teaching our children. So much beauty and heartbreak and pain and resilience and love. One thing that really got me as someone who is always searching for home is the idea that there is no "there there". That place we imagine does not and can not exist in real life, but only in our heads and in our hearts. I look forward to more of Orange's writing in the future.

A beautiful setting for a beautifully and honestly told rendition of the death of a loved one.
