Another perfect Derek Milman sentence that I can actually see
This paragraph is the best, most amazing paragraph I have ever read.
Of all time.
"Slightly before dinner, Keenan House, the group home where I live, gets a call that my homosexual exorcism is scheduled to take place next Thursday at four.
'But I'm not homosexual. And I'm not possessed.' I say to Len, my counselor.
'You sure?' asks Len. He cracks open a PBR and takes a long, gurgling sip.
'Bet your both' says my roommate, Jude, pulling on his boxing gloves."
Y'all I can't.... The hole inside my stomach as I finished this book; my heart beating a mile a minute; my mind trying to futilely catch up to Pippa... I have never been swallowed so whole within a story in my entire life as I have been with Holly Jackson's stories of Fairview, CT!
"And then it was Pip's turn. She took a breath, arching her shoulders, and then let it out through gritted teeth.
Ready." - As Good As Dead by Holly Jackson
This story flows from the end of book one (A Good Girl's Guide to Murder) to the end of book two (Good Girl, Bad Blood) so seamlessly! The stories of Pippa Fitz-Amobi, her family, and friends, are full of mysteries, suspense, hilarity, curiosity, thrills, heart-stopping, gut-wrenching, bittersweet, raw, honest, genuine, realistic, creative, unique, relatable adventures... Both real and imaginative, of course!
I was swallowed whole by the strange, familiar yet different, mystifying and thrilling, full of suspense and epic, life-altering, journey(s) that this story brought to life. Never in my wildest imagination did I think the story would end how it did! Ms. Holly Jackson kept her readers guessing until the very last page! Her writing style is beautiful, creative, and flows through my head like a movie.
"When you ask people in town what happened to Andie Bell, they'll tell you without hesitation: 'She was murdered by Salil Singh.' No, 'allegedly', no 'might have', no 'probably', no 'most likely'.
He did it, they say. Sal Singh killed Andie.
But I'm just not sure." -- A Good Girl's Guide To Murder by Holly Jackson
I was captured and swallowed whole by this book from page one! I could not escape the genuinely unique, talented, beautiful, charming, full of mystery and suspense, adventure and humor, angst and heartbreak, grief and real life epicness that this story was!! I feel like I was swept up in a tornado 🌪️ and I loved every second of it. 💯✌🏻💜
I have a book coming in this week that I preordered a few months back and am extremely excited for (You'd Be Home Now by Kathleen Glasgow) but ever since I finished Please Do Not Ask For Mercy this book was "screaming" to be read! Does anyone else look through their shelves and hear little book voices calling "read me next read me next!" or is it just me? ?????
A thrilling, intense, sci-fi, mystifying, radically different detective story that I have ever had the pleasure of reading! This book was written extremely well, humorous and enthralling until the very end! 💯✌🏻💜
"After he was released. He said you were okay, and you weren't mean to him or anything. He said you brought him juice."
My next book is: Please Do Not Ask For Mercy As A Refusal Often Offends by Paul Bassett Davies! Who became an immediate favorite author after reading his book Dead Writers In Rehab. His style and humor is witty, smart, and beautiful. I'm only on chapter two so far, but I already adore this book ♡
I have fallen in love with Kathleen Glasgow and her words and her characters and their lives all over again. I adore Tiger Tolliver and Cake and Thaddeus and all the other misfits and good-looking, good-smelling, girl and boy bugs. This story will always be a favorite and I urge anyone and everyone to pick up this and any and every story Kathleen Glasgow writes. 💜✌🏻
Today, for the first time in my life, I started a new book while already reading a book!
I'm very torn and really like the first book I started, but I can't seem to get interested in it enough to continue reading, so I have come to the sad decision of dropping the story; it kind of makes me feel guilty. 😢 But it's no fault of the author(s) and all on me.
So today I start Dead Writer's in Rehab ✌🏻💜
If you read one series this year, make it the Jackaby series by William Ritter! It has everything a reader could want... and more!!
It has all the witty humor and sarcastic charm of Sherlock Holmes plus every myth, legend, folktale, epic adventure, romance, imagination, and most of all: magic!! ☆☆☆☆☆ 💜✌🏻

I have a disability called Sensory Processing Disorder/Dysfunction. I was diagnosed at 7 years old & because of my SPD, I cannot work. It is on the Autism spectrum but is not Autism; they only have the same symptoms. Unfortunately, not a lot of people (including Dr's and my Dad) realize this is a real disability.

After finishing "A Study In Charlotte" I'm torn between: wanting to read the next book in the series by Brittany Cavallaro, to read a new story, or wait for the last book in the #jackabyseries to be released and delivered to my house... so I checked my unending TBR shelves and found these 5 books that felt like they were "calling out to me" to be read!
Anyone have any suggestions on my predicament? Thank you in advance!! ??✌?
My absolute favorite read of 2017!
This story has it all: humor, adventure, wit, sarcasm, twists and turns, romance, mystery, secrets, and so much more! Brittany Cavallaro's writing style is honest, unique, creative, and flows right off the page; I had no idea what would happen next, and even had to reread a bit before moving on!
I've only stayed up through the night to read ONE other series, so I seriously recommend this lovely story!! ✌🏻💜
1. Library! I like silence when I read
2. Author: James Patterson; Character: Jackaby from the Jackaby series by William Ritter
3. Cry a bit; I always love to smile and/or laugh while I read!
4. Reading a 1000+ page history lesson is a lot better than no Litsy!
5. Never read the back cover blurb! I always buy a book based on the title, cover, & if I like what I read from a random page!
What is your #bookishwouldyourather? 🤓✌💕 @Kalalalatja
"How many feelings can one heart hold?
Infinite. The way the universe is infinite. It is light and dark and endless motion; it is space and time, and space within space, and time within time. And she knew: there is no limit to what the heart can carry." -- the Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill
This book is gorgeous magic, lovely, and is now one of my absolute favorite stories ??✌?
