It may be a popular answer today, but it's my favorite: The Hogwarts Express. Throwback to that time I got to ride the "real" thing and AHHHHHH I wish I could live at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. #photoadaynov16

Ugh this book was so frustrating. Kathy and Lester are two of the worst characters I've ever read about. And everything was just so needlessly tragic. All over a stupid house. Ugh ugh ugh.

Listened to the audiobook via Hoopla. This was just ok. The first half of these stories were kind of cheesy and ended with Happily Ever Afters. The second half had a couple of darker stories. Not Christie's normal mystery fare.

"Dear You, The body you are wearing used to be mine." How do you not read on after that first line?! #booktober

the_hibernator This was a pretty amazing book. I'm reading the sequel right now. 8y
adeebee @the_hibernator Yes! Stiletto was pretty good, but I think I preferred The Rook over it. I hope there's more books to come! 8y
the_hibernator I definitely prefer The Rook so far. Stiletto's good, but it could have some stuff cut out without harming the plot. 8y
adeebee @the_hibernator Definitely agree with that! 8y

adeebee @the_hibernator It's a good one! Perfect for this time of year. Have you seen the movie? 8y
the_hibernator I have not. Is it as good as the book? 8y
adeebee @the_hibernator They have the main stuff in common, but I think the plot turns out pretty differently towards the end. I liked it pretty well, though. 8y

I didn't really have the patience for this one. I'm sure it's good, but it was really slow to get to the point. Might have been better if I was reading it instead of listening to it on audiobook?

Let me know if you liked it or if it gets a lot better. I made it about 60% of the way through.

This was everything I wanted in the last book of this series. Despite the length, I felt like it just flew by. I'm really going to miss these characters. Recommended to anyone looking for a great fantasy series. Please read this so we can discuss how great it is, hahaha.

10/5 stars. 😉

Oops, took an unintentional break from Litsy. 😶 But I'm back now!

Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock was both emotionally hard hitting and a bit of a let down. Some of the scenes in this book had me in tears, and the portrayal of a teen struggling with depression was very well done. But Leonard had some issues with the way he treated women that I couldn't over look.

Thieves, assassins, a missing heir, court politics, a witch, battles, a dash of romance, and lots of adventure.
I'm currently reading the last book of this trilogy, and I couldn't recommend this series more. #booktober

This book was frustrating. The last third of the book or so was really great, and I enjoyed Alex as a narrator quite a bit. But the first big chunk of the book after the first chapter was just really dull. Lots of things that could have been interesting were bogged down with way too much detail.

Book 2/4. Continuing to adore this series. Alanna is a wonderful heroine, and this story is a little more adult than the previous one. Follows Alanna from the ages of 15-18. I wish the book didn't rush over parts of Alanna's life, but for 209 pages, I felt like we got a lot of content. On to the next one!

I've been putting off reading this book for ages (I've had it since 2011!), and I'm really sorry I did now. This was great! Good mystery with interesting characters and reeeeeally dark story at points. I just read the summary of the sequel, and I'm so excited to get started on it.

Listened to the audiobook on Scribd. I'm a big fan of Mindy Kaling, so I really enjoyed this. If you're not, or not very familiar with her work, YMMV. Definitely not as good as her first book (a few parts kind of dragged), but still hilarious and entertaining.

Mehso-so

Listened to the audiobook on Scribd. There were a lot of things I liked about this book. The idea of the art of persuasion as a sort of super power was a lot of fun, and I enjoyed reading about Emily's time at school. I also really liked the Memento-esque method of storytelling. However, there were some moments where I felt the story lost some momentum and dragged, and the ending was rather abrupt and unsatisfactory.
3/5 stars.
