A couple ahead of their time who forged an unusual marriage and political partnership that help lead the US out of the Great Depression and navigate our involvement in WWII. I'm endlessly fascinated with this amazing family. #funphotofriday

Hreynolds @britt_brooke I'm unapologetically obsessed with the Roosevelts, they were so transformational and ahead of their time. A great book! 7y

A creepy cult where women exist to serve their husbands without question or risk 'correction'. Chills, chills, chills!! Sounded like a winner and while there were some interesting twists the writing was simplistic and the romantic relationships were just too harlequin romance meets 50 shades of grey for me. That being said, it was a quick, fun read that helped break a slump I was in after a couple of more meaty reads.

Santa Fe's most famous ghost just happens to be author Hannah Nordhaus' great, great grandmother. An interesting story of her efforts to learn about her family history and understand what might have led her relative to stick around. A great read for anyone who enjoys a good mystery/ghost story...that's all true! #booktober

The story of a Montana social worker of questionable character and his attempts to help the son of a anti-government survivalist. Terrific writing but it's a harsh picture of rural America with characters that are often hard to like.

An interesting take on the werewolf story. Lycans live among us as a controversial minority group fighting against government sanctioned restrictions and control. So many parallels with current political issues - immigration, terrorism, human rights and how the quest for power and control can make it difficult to know who 'the good guys' are.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa That sounds interesting! 8y

Merethebookgal It's so wonderful and I feel an under appreciated novel. 8y
Hreynolds @Merethebookgal I couldn't agree more! Darcy is a sexy beast but Capt Wentworth is an overlooked romantic lead. I think it's the understated nature of his romance with Anne. 8y

I enjoyed this story of a modern town haunted by a 17th century witch. Scary stuff and I don't just mean the witch! Timely and thought provoking. Dragged on a bit but worth it.

Enduring love and friendship and what it takes to sustain it. All the ugliness, all the beauty. Great characters with the backdrop of NYC spanning the 70's to present times. LOVED it.

Bookgirl This is one of my top 5 least favorite books of all time. I actually hated it, which says a lot. That said, I enjoy seeing positive reviews of books I didn't like, as it's proof that books speak to people differently, which is what I do love about reading!!! 8y
