I got this in June's Owlcrate box, my first box from them. I absolutely adore this book and the author's writing. Right from the start I connect with the main character, Elisabeth. Then Nathaniel and Silas arrive and I love them both soooo much. The little bits of humor thrown in just sold it for me. I read this book in a day, I couldn't put it down!

SO much happened but it was all tied up well and the ending was solid. 10 out of 5 stars.

I've had several people tell me to read the series. I was told there is a natural break between books 3 and 4 so I opted to stop after 3.

I never started liking the MC, Clary.
I LOVED Luke though. I would read an entire series of just his story.
The books read really quick, even though they're fat. I finished each within a day or two. The world was very in depth and interesting and I loved all the different beings.

LibrarianRyan I stopped after 3 as well. Admittedly that was when the series was supposed to be a trilogy. 4w
AuthorJensenReed Apparently she mashed two trilogies together. I wanted to like them but so many tines there were weird jumps or lazy writing. Was a bummer cause i like big series 4w

Golden State was a really interesting book, but the style wasn't my favorite.

I recommend it if you like dystopian/mysteries, and I wouldn't mind a follow up book because the ending kind of fell flat, but I don't think I'll be adding it to my forever shelf.

I loved the present story that was told. I loved the characters and some of the lines were beaitiful, heartbreaking, and poetic. But there was SO MANY jumps to the past and none of them were separated clearly. It was really off-putting. Then the whole book was from thr POV of two best friends who were separated by war. But we never got their reunion! Just the "I'm going to see this one" at the end. Bleh.

This was a much anticipated release for me. I helped beta it through Writing Bad and have been closely following the author's progress.

The book really captures realistic wolf behavior, which I adore because they're my favorite. There is humor, sorrow, and joy in this book. It's a great YA read. Highly recommend

This was a cute little tale about a courageous elf who figures out that the world can be so much more than it is. I loved the variety of characters and overall fast-paced storyline that makes this a great read for middle schoolers and more.

I loved this! I really connected with the MC, loved all the small details that showed me the author put herself into the characters, and the magic system was intriguing. The story kept me reading and I read it in a day (fast reader!) There are two more in the series that I'm dying to get in the mail soon. Amazing. 5 stars.

I like that Lorrek has magic and knows how to use it, vs struggling to understand it like a lot of fantasy books do. The hints at the backstory kept pulling me along and I enjoyed the story and imagery. My only complaint is the head-hopping within the same chapters, sometimes with up to four characters. I feel it would have been a smoother read had the author simply separated the hops with a small break or something.

I keep seeing posts about "Your favorite book in 2018"

The Culling is masterfully written. But it IS a YA book. So if you don't like that genre DON'T READ IT.

Seriously. Read it. Book two won an AWARD. It keeps beating out Divergent and Maze Runner in sales. Her third comes out in March and I'm SO excited!!! Also, this is available in Pixie Forest's book box this month along with Colliding Skies :) www.PixieforestPublishing.com

This was an interesting read. I bought it because of how a reader friend talked it up, but it wasn't anything like how she said. Regardless, I stayed up late to read it. The characters are well written and I teared up a couple times. I recommend it if you like historical stories

AuthorJensenReed I have been so bad about reading these last two years. Moving and depression made it so bad. I have about 10 books picked out that will give me a bingo or two and are part of my TBR.. I started a little group on FB for this reading challenge. Day 7 of the #WriterNerds challenge. Favorite literary quote
There are SO many I quote all the time from "Dragons love pie?" To "Chocolate. Eat it, it helps."

For whatever reason, this quote by Mat from Wheel of Time was the first to pop into my head. So I went with it, but I have to say (so none of the other quotes feel left out) it isn't my all-time favorite. ?

#WriterNerds day 4. What book have you read the most in your life?

I had to think about it. I finally decided on Inca Gold by Clive Cussler because it was the first book that REALLY got me into reading. Without this book I wouldn't be an author. I've read it so many times, even though it isn't my favorite in the Dirk Pitt series. It just holds a special place in my heart. I own all of the series and there are over 25

#WriterNerds challenge day 3. If you could meet any character who would you choose?

I thought about this a TON. Ultimately, I have to go with one of the MCs in my zombie series. Lucky Bailey is decisive, intelligent, caring, protective, and funny. I'm pretty sure I could spend hours just talking with him. Maybe go horseback riding. He's been at the top of my favorite characters list for 6 years now. I love him!
