A #womenshistoryreads first today - I've interviewed (many) novelists before, but never a verse novelist, and I'm fascinated by Kip Wilson's chosen format for her story of Sophie Scholl. Read up on this forthcoming novel on my blog at greermacallister.com/blog .

If you're not already a Lauren Willig fan, you will be after reading her #womenshistoryreads Q&Q&Q&A! As you might expect from a professional historian turned practical historian, she has a deep knowledge of the field, name-checking everyone from Lucy Percy Hay to Winnie the Pooh. Check it out at greermacallister.com/blog .

"Then why are you here?” “It only takes two things to make a #woman insane: the word of a man who stands to benefit and a doctor willing to sell his say-so.” “But don‘t they need a reason?” “Anything‘s a reason . . . Anything you do, anything you are. Anything you want.”

This is my final book for #booked2018 ! Happy to say that it was also from the mountainous #TBR pile! This is Book 3 of a series based on the real life of sisters who lived in New Jersey in the early 1900‘s. Miss Constance Kopp became somewhat a celebrity due to the fact that a female assistant sheriff, who carried a gun and wore a gold star was quite unusual for the period! Despite the lack of respect that she faced, Constance was a #underdoghero

BarbaraTheBibliophage Love it—I need to read the last two!! 8mo

Learning about #womeninhistory who are new to me has been one of my favorite parts of this #womenshistoryreads Q&Q&Q&A series -- and yours too, I hope. Today: radical poet Lola Ridge, introduced to us by author Terese Svoboda. Greermacallister.com/blog

Some of us write books inspired by one amazing woman -- Karen Karbo's latest was inspired by 29! Read her #womenshistoryreads interview for Karen's thoughts on the importance of historical context, reading recommendations, and a famous banana skirt that's only a sliver of the story. #difficultwomen greermacallister.com/blog
