The Snow Child | Eowyn Ivey

Started this one tonight, which I‘ve been wanting to read forever. Four chapters in, liking it a lot. My grandmother‘s name was Mabel, so it gives me a jolt every time the main character is referred to by name! 😄

Overall I‘m having a pretty great reading May, so far. The books have been excellent this month! #usareadingroadtrip #Alaska

I‘m digging into my TBR to fulfill some reading challenge prompts this month. I‘ve had this one on my Kindle app for awhile. It‘s good so far, moving quickly. It‘s set in the Ukrainian immigrant community of New York & Connecticut, which I know nothing about, so that‘s interesting to read about. Here I‘ve been looking for a book set in Connecticut, and it turns out I had one on my TBR pile already. 🙄 #MountTBR #usareadingroadtrip #Connecticut

I made some new bookish pages for my #bujo Are there any #'s I should know for these type of challenges? Anyone doing/tracking something similar?

knittedgnome @AmandaL awesome!! Thank you! I'm new to litsy so I am still figuring things like that out! 6y
Bookworm54 Hey :) #litsyaroundtheworld is a postal Book group, but the #passportlitsy one run by @maximoffs is one of the reading challenges :) 6y

MissAimz_55 That's so awesome! I think I'm going to make an around the world in books page too!!! 6y
knittedgnome @Bookworm54 thanks for clearing that up! 6y
knittedgnome @MissAimz_55 do it!! I thought it would be a fun challenge and make me read out of my usual zone! 6y
Amabear I wanna make these! Super neat 👍🏻 6y
knittedgnome @Amabear thanks! You should! They were nice and easy! 6y
Amabear @knittedgnome what‘s the one million page one? 6y
knittedgnome @Amabear I'm just tracking the number of pages I read. When I finish a book (not audio for this) I add it to what trackers it fits. 6y
azulaco Pretty! I track all my challenges on Goodreads. I'm in the Around The World In 80 Books group, and I'm doing both their #aroundtheworldin80books and #usareadingroadtrip challenges, at my own pace. You should check there for reading ideas if you get stuck. Any country or state, someone's already found a book from there, I promise. 6y
knittedgnome @azulaco thanks for the tips! I need to give Goodreads another chance. It wasn't recording ebooks like I thought and I was so disappointed I haven't looked at it for more! I'm going to use this to step out of my normal some and explore new places! Of course in the beginning I can read whatever and it will fill in blanks. Lol. 6y

Pickpick

It took me forever to finish this book. It was a cute story, but I wasn‘t that interested, and the writing dragged for me a little. This was a romance recommendation from NPR. I‘m getting through their list, but I think I‘m just going to have to accept that romance is not my favorite genre, as I‘ve stated before. Between a pick and a so-so for me, would recommend to romance fans. This was also #Vermont for my #usareadingroadtrip.

I need something light, relaxing, and entertaining...a cozy mystery should fit the bill. #usareadingroadtrip #rhodeisland

This is SO good. I‘m so happy I picked it to be my #NorthCarolina read for #usareadingroadtrip.

I started this one yesterday for #usareadingroadtrip #WestVirginia. It‘s a memoir of growing up in coal mining country during good times (late 1950s), and getting out. Interesting to read given the current economic despair in coal country, and subsequent Trumpian support.

Life Sentences: A Novel | Laura Lippman

This book is loosely based on an actual missing child case in Baltimore, and the further I get into it, the more I want to know what happened in the real case. It was never resolved. The mom never disclosed what happened to her child. Interested to see how Laura Lippman handles it. #usareadingroadtrip #Maryland

Pickpick

I really liked this book. If you are a hardcore horror fan, I can see how this book might disappoint you. For me, the supernatural and occult elements kept the story interesting. I‘m glad I read it during Halloween season. It was spooky and unsettling, particularly the epilogue. That‘s my kind of horror novel, more psychological suspense than actual scariness. I like everything I read by @ChrisBohjalian . #usareadingroadtrip #NewHampshire

Obviously I can't complete New England in my #usareadingroadtrip without at least one @ChrisBohjalian novel. This looks like a good one for the Halloween season, too. #NewHampshire
