3/5⭐ If you're going to read this book, I recommend that you already be familiar with magical theories and practices so you can better parse the context of what the author says, take the useful parts, and discard the problematic ones. #roll100

This book is written by Christine Grace, one of the cohosts from the podcast Betwixt and Between. It was a rather quick read, so I fully intend to go back through it more slowly. It is advertised as keys to traditional witchcraft, but I found that it leaned more towards hedge witchery & ancestor worship.

This would have been a good book to have years ago, when I was a solitary practitioner, looking for a deeper practice into the old ways which Wicca couldn‘t provide. Pagan ways still fascinate me but I no longer believe many of the things I once did. Traditional Witchcraft is different in that it is more primitive. If that calls to you, this book is for you.

MoonWitch94 Beautiful altar 😍 2y
MoonWitch94 What is your practice now, if I might ask? 2y
Chrissyreadit I am curious about your current practice too. 2y

JenniferEgnor @MoonWitch94 & @Chrissyreadit these days I am a practicing Medium! I am atheist but still sometimes do pagan rituals. I like to read about all of it. I have never met anyone that wanted to practice in a more primitive way like in this book. But I would absolutely love to do this. Check this out: https://banefolk.com/. That‘s my thing! 2y
Chrissyreadit Wow! That sounds very interesting! 2y
MoonWitch94 I second what @Chrissyreadit said: your practice sounds very interesting! Thanks for sharing ☺️ 2y

BiblioLitten 🥺 I don‘t know how to knit but I want to learn because my grandmother used to knit sweaters for me and I feel learning that will be a way to remember her. 2y
StaceGhost @BiblioLitten you definitely should! I find it really meditative and relaxing, even when it goes awry lol I think it would be a beautiful way to remember your grandmother ❤️ even my worst sweaters are prized 😅 2y

5/5⭐ A really fantastic exploration of deep, meaningful imaginative practices to improve your life, which I think would be helpful whether you practice magic or not. The author was conversational, incredibly informative, down to earth, and non-prescriptive. Highly recommend.

I was looking forward to reading this, but what a let down. I disliked the writing style, the content, ugh, it was quite frustrating
An hour into the book I came across a rly unfortunate mention of abortions as “evil acts” and, well, coming from a witch, that‘s rich

Everything was so patronizing, the “lessons” were so beaten, I just found myself skipping chunks of text just to see if something was salvageable. It wasn‘t, not for me anyway 🤷🏽‍♀️

cozypunk What da heck are you holding? 3y
