Slow morning, so far. I'm determined to go swimming at 10 am, when the pool opens.

Read "Arthur and George" in bed this morning, very slow read. I could do with half the unnecessary information.

Now I'm diving further into the tagged book. I cannot restrict myself to #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay. #ARC #NetGalley

Spent about an hour on the torture mat finishing the 4th book in the Great Library series.

This is not the end to the series. There will be another book.

As much as I enjoyed the different POVs, it needed some getting used to, I was so used to being in Jess' head.

And although there was not a boring moment within the story, I would have liked to have a conclusion now.

VeganCleopatra What exactly is this torture mat? 6y
AlaMich Yes, what @VeganCleopatra said?! 6y

DivineDiana Torture mat sounds painful 😣 6y
julesG @VeganCleopatra @AlaMich - it's an acupuncture mat, it's called Shakti Mat or also Yantra Mat. Ever since I bought mine for nearly 60 euros, I've seen similar ones advertised, cheaper of course. 😕 Just Google either of the two names, you'll find it. When I Google, I only come up with German pages right now. Sorry. 6y
julesG @DivineDiana it needs getting used to. My back was bare for the first time and I felt every of the 6k pin points. It's bearable. My back feels pretty relaxed right now. I should spend more time on it. 6y
AlaMich @julesG Interesting! 6y
Linear When i read this, i thought it mean you made the mat, at first. And i was like..." reason...?" But the comments helped explain. Lol my mind went to weird places before then 6y
julesG @Linear I'm not that crafty. 😉 6y
Caroline2 Oh, I‘ve heard lots of good things about those mats but I‘m too chicken to try it out myself!! 😆 🐓 6y
julesG @Caroline2 My physiotherapist just said that my muscles are much more relaxed today than they were last Thursday, so it seems to work. I used to be chicken, but I'm much more interested in staying as fit as possible. 6y
Caroline2 Yes, no pain no gain or so they say! I might buy one for my husband for Christmas then I can use it too! Win win! 😉 6y
julesG Good idea. @Caroline2 6y
catsuit_mango There is one 'torture mat' or champs de fleur (more poetic same torture) at my parents'. I managed to fall/slip on it and my left hand was bleeding a little by the time I looked at it... It's more dangerous than a cat ;). But Terribly relaxing if you manage to fall asleep on it! 6y
julesG @catsuit_mango ouch! I would not want to fall onto it. It's like falling on a bed of glass shards. I like the French name. 6y
MinDea I still have to catch up on this series. I am so behind! Glad you finished and enjoyed. 6y

Final discussion for #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay #BuddyRead is happening now! I hope you all enjoyed the series!
@GarthRanzz @tonyahoswalt

MinDea Hey! How did ya'll like this series? I unfortunately only got through book 1. @tonyahoswalt is going to step in for me and help with the discussion so please make sure to tag her and anyone else to discuss the book! I hope to read it soon and will pick the conversation back up when I do! Hope you're all having a great weekend. 6y
julesG 🙈 Haven't finished the most recent one yet. So I'm going to come back to this discussion later. I liked the first three books in the series although I had a hard time getting into it at first. 6y

tonyahoswalt Hey guys! I admit, I wasn't sure about the series at first, but then I fell in love with it! I am a librarian, so I admit my love for libraries may have something to do with it. 6y
tonyahoswalt To start us off, here are just a few simple questions. 1. Of the series, which book was you favorite? Why? 2. Who was your favorite character? Why? 3. How did you feel about the changing perspectives in book 4? 6y
Eggbeater 1. I gave Paper and Fire 5 stars because I read ahead and couldn't put it down. It's where all the action was. 2. Khalila is my favorite because she is a badass muslim and we never get to see that. With Wolfe and Santi's romance coming in a close second. 3. It took me a minute to get used to it, but once I did I was really into it. I just had to mentally switch gears. 6y
thereadingowlvina 📚 Loved Book 4 the most. Characters have so much depth & the plot was more intense 📚 Brendan was my favourite. He appears to be selfish but in the end his love & loyalty towards Jess proved otherwise 📚 It was difficult at first but I loved it! Connected deeper with the characters this way! 📚 I will reread this series for sure! 💕💕💕 6y
tonyahoswalt @Eggbeater @thereadingowlvina I did feel like the changing perspectives let us connect with those characters more, but it kind of made it feel like the book went by too fast too. 6y
tonyahoswalt 4. Did you have a favorite of the automatons? 5. How do you feel about the way those in the Iron Tower were treated? 6. Can you justify the library's stance on keeping books and knowledge to themselves? @Eggbeater @thereadingowlvina @readinginthedark @catebutler @LibrarianRyan @mrp27 @Jovy @RainyDayReading @JenaJenkins @ElishaLovesBooks @staci.reads @Chellebearss @BookishMe @SassyBookworm 6y
Jovy Still in book 4! 😬 I‘ll jump in when done but the first 3 books were great. 6y
BookishMe @tonyahoswalt not a fan of dystopian genre. But this setting and bookish premise is hard to resist. Are any of the automatons likeable, let alone have a favourite? ;p I haven't started on Book 3, so still lagging ;(( 6y
BookishMe Iron Tower - centre of dictatorship? 6y
Chellebearss 1) book 1 & 4 were the best for me as I didn‘t want to put either down. I had a hard time getting motivated to read the middle two. 2) Morgan and Jess 3) I liked the changing perspectives quite a bit and thought it was well done. 4) I liked the first Lion that Thomas turned to their side of the fight. 6y
tonyahoswalt @BookishMe Well, I wouldn't necessarily say the automatons are likeable, but as machines, I don't find them evil either. They are kind of cool. Plus there is the bird Thomas made for Khalila! As for the Iron Tower, the people there are certainly controlled, but the dictator is the guy in charge of the library. The one that takes over the Iron Tower is just his lackey. 6y
tonyahoswalt @Chellebearss Morgan grew on me. There were times I wasn't sure I liked her. I think my favorites were Jess and Thomas. 6y
LibrarianRyan TBH I have not finished this series and it saddens me. As to the libraries stance on keeping things to themselves is that they Deam things harmful to society. We do this now weather we tall age approiateness, shameful reading, or outright banning. It‘s similar to not screaming fair in a movie theater. It‘s believed to be harmfully the the population as a whole. 6y
BookishMe @tonyahoswalt Thomas is LIKEABLE right from the start! I knew what happened in the first book was not what it seemed ;p 6y
julesG Ha, I had to read to the end of book 3 and/or the beginning of book 4 to find out that the lingua franca of the library is Greek. 💃 6y

It took me a while to get used to the new switching point of view intstead of reading the story from only Jess's perspective, but when I grew accustomed to it, I couldn't stop reading. These characters have become as familiar as friends. It is my new comfort series now. Thank you @GarthRanzz and @MinDea for hosting #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay #buddyread ! I can't wait until the last book is out!

Very late post for #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay buddyread

Still a pick for me because when there's action, it's packed with a tense excitement that takes your breath away. There were times though when I felt like we've heard this all before. Also, would have been cool if we had a glimpse of Philadelphia like Alexandria in book one.

The strength of the series is always its character development. I love Khalila and the dark side of Thomas is 🔥!

I think my passion for libraries has increased my love of these books. I have really enjoyed #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay buddy read. I hate that I now have to wait for the final book! The changing perspectives of this one made the book move quicker I think, though sometimes it felt too quick. Still loved it though! @MinDea @GarthRanzz

This is one of those series that I enjoy but am semi ambivalent about. I like the characters and story line and I want to know what happens in the end, but I somehow have to force myself to pick up the next book. Once I'm into it I have enjoyed them and not wanted to put them down but then find myself putting off reading the next book. I'll be starting the 4th right away so as not to give myself any distractions from finishing the series #86of2018

tracey38 This is how I felt about the first one. I liked it and the story but felt I had to really dig deep to read it. I do want to get the second boom, but just haven't yet. 🤷‍♀️ 6y
Chellebearss @tracey38 I read the first two quickly and finished before the group did but then found myself putting off getting to the third. I wonder if the 4th is the last or if there are more planned 6y
tonyahoswalt I felt that way about the first one, but by the third one I was really into it. I'm not as far along in the fourth one as I should be due to a migraine, but I hope to catch up soon. 6y
tonyahoswalt @Chellebearss There is one more book planned according to the fourth book. 6y

Book 3 in the series and a solid continuation of the series. Hard to say much without spoilers for one of the books.
I will continue the series, but going to give myself some time before starting the next book. So this is where I end for #TheGreatLibraryChapterADay - thanks, it was fun!
