dabbe I'm also amazed at how these people can live so high and mightily when they don't have much $. The amount of debt they've accrued is unfathomable to me, yet they go on drinking, gambling, and partying! Though I seem to recall my rowdier days in college where I could get by on a night of partying with just a few bucks. #shhh 🤫 8mo

Can someone explain the extremely pissed off General to me? I didn't have a clue about what was happening in that whole scene. Perhaps I read it too late at night. 8mo

eeclayton @Cuilin @mcctrish I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to dislike Amelia. I kind of feel sorry for her, but can't really empathize with her. It's interesting how useless she is as George's wife even though she's been raised to fill that role. 8mo

Cuilin @mcctrish I think so, Amelia‘s developing awareness of her husband‘s character is so numbing causing her apathy. 8mo

TheAromaofBooks I've definitely developed a soft spot for Rawden. I love that he seems completely aware of the fact that his wife is kind of a terrible person but he just admires the heck out of her smarts 😂 8mo

eeclayton @Cuilin @mcctrish that's a great point, but also, she has zero coping strategies. All her life, everything has been mapped out for her, to the point of who to fall in love with. She could've had a nice life if everything had gone according to plan, but she hasn't been prepared to deal with unexpected situations. 8mo
