The very last thing I did before lockdown was take my book to Hampton Court and immerse myself in the Tudor world. I love #readingonlocation. Today I rekindled that passion and took my book to Ely cathedral!

DivineDiana How wonderful! 1y
charl08 Hope it's warmer than I remember it being! 1y
Mitch @charl08 it was -7 this morning! A bit nippy ! 🤣 1y

For the first time in 2 years I‘ve been doing what I love best today - #readingonlocation ! I used to do it ALL the time - find the right place to read the right book, I loved those reading time. Hopefully more on the future 👍🏼

Chrissyreadit I love this! It looks like a beautiful space, great book and great weather! 2y
Mitch @Chrissyreadit to be fair - I only walked across the road to the farm opposite - but it‘s still on location, right! It must be because I took a mat to sit on and a water bottle! 2y
Chrissyreadit Any place that peaceful and beautiful works BUT especially if it‘s just across the road 😍💗 2y

Does it count as #ReadingOnLocation when I'm at my Alma Mater reading while waiting for my daughter? She's doing an advanced science course for young kids in secondary school.

Not the nicest of buildings, it's a 1960s concrete monstrosity, but it has the largest/best stocked uni-library in Germany. I am not visiting the library today though; I'm not sure about the Covid R&R atm.

#FabulousFebruary #readathon @Andrew65

BethM Sounds like a neat opportunity for her! 2y
squirrelbrain What a great opportunity! 2y
julesG @squirrelbrain @BethM Thanks! My daughter liked it, but was also a bit underwhelmed. That first meeting was a typical first meeting and hence no hands-on (or should I say, no Bunsen burners on) session. 2y

squirrelbrain Maybe they‘ll get to burn things (or blow things up) next time! 2y
julesG @squirrelbrain I've a picture of Beaker from the Muppet Show in my head, all of a sudden. 2y
robinb Even if it's a concrete jungle, at least you have windows! 😉 2y
julesG @robinb Yes, it could have been worse. 2y

This week I did my first #readingonlocation for nearly 2 years. I love finding a quiet reading space that adds something to my reading. This week I took the tagged book - all about a band of women travelling across the Arctic Circle to try to find Franklin. - to the Polar Museum, part of the Geological Dept at Cambridge University

DGRachel That‘s amazing! 2y
TrishB That sounds fab. 2y
Mitch @TrishB it‘s a fascinating place ! 2y
Mitch @DGRachel I had a magical hour reading on a bench under this massive ceiling painting of the Arctic north ♥️ 2y
Hooked_on_books I really liked this one. What a great spot to read it! 2y

For the first time in over a year in at last #readingonlocation - I‘ve missed it soooo much! Thankful for the little cabin in the corner of a farm - complete with its own field. Space and sky after so long inside. I‘m very happy!

AmyG Enjoy!!! 3y

Lockdown has forced me to swap my beloved activity of #readingonlocation for #eatingbooks !

My current read focuses on chocolate and the Baltic states - so made a Babka today to accompany a few afternoon chapters!

Lynnsoprano That looks wonderful! 3y
Crazeedi Oh my goodness, can I come over and have a piece? It looks so good, yum💗 3y
tracey38 Wow, that looks good! 3y

Mitch @Lynnsoprano @Crazeedi @tracey38 Thanks guys. I made a very rich brioche dough, proved over night and then lots and lots of chocolate - twist, plait and then squish in the tin! 3y
Come-read-with-me This looks delicious! 3y
Crazeedi @Mitch I've never done a brioche dough. Is it hard? I'm going to have to look up a recipe 3y
Lynnsoprano @Mitch What @Crazeedi said ☝️😄 3y

Ahhhhh..... this is one of the things I miss the absolute most. Haven‘t been #readingonlocation for nearly 6 months now 😢

https://lithub.com/remember-reading-in-public/

AmyG I know. I don‘t go much of anywhere these days. ☹️ 4y
Soubhiville I know! I miss coffee shop reading! And taking my time browsing bookstores. 😢 Hopefully these are things we‘ll be able to safely do again eventually. ❤️ 4y
Mitch @AmyG we‘re both staying home to minimise the risk to my mum and Mels mum - so kinda feel cut off from the world ( which isn‘t always a bad thing!) 4y

Mitch @Soubhiville I really miss browsing and kinda beautiful corners of the city to read 😢 4y
marleed It‘s on my top 5 list of missing things. I do just fine on my own but I do love to be alone amongst people from time to time. 4y
MsMelissa I can‘t read in public. I people watch too much LOL (edited) 4y
